No like the helm and shoulder pieces you can make it invisible.

Beer helmet.
I never use it but it's probably done to compensate for the difference in response time it takes compared to using your mouse.
In Topic: So, how can I play with my friends if we are not exactly 5 ppl in PvP?

You got a point but considering the matches are up to 8v8(10v10?) it might not even be as important. I agree if it's not implemented I really hope they put it in for launch, it's a really good way to get more people interested in PvP if they can play with friends.
