#2235081 Twilight Assault Coming October 1st

Posted Sans on 21 September 2013 - 12:50 PM

We don't know if it's going to be a dungeon ( though most likely it will be)
We don't know if it will replace Twilight Arbor.
We don't know it ( is a dungeon) will be called Twilight Assault, that's just the name of the release.

What I do know is that i'm going to like that wallpaper that will come with it.

I think it's a well designed minigame. Gw2 gameplay will never be like gw1 and we just have to accept it.

#2210260 What's stopping me from PvPing...

Posted Dove on 09 June 2013 - 03:47 PM

I think the OP stated it poorly, but my reasoning for my just now getting into PvP is similar. That being there's absolutely no tie between PvE and PvP.

In many ways that's good. Immediate max armor, all skills unlocked, even at some level the skins not being shared is something I'm okay with.

My problem is that the two reward systems are 100% independent. In GW1, you could either enhance your look in PvP by playing PvE or you could take your PvP winnings and convert them into items or gold by using or selling Z-Keys, etc.

In GW2, my human thief Matt Crowe feels like two completely different characters when I go through the Mists portal into or out of PvP. I wish there were some reward sharing system, because I (and probably many other players) are accomplishment and award driven, and right now you have to pick whether to work on PvP or PvE instead of working on your account or your characters.

They want you to finished the event, not farm the event. I think that is the point that is missing from the people on the official forums.

It's a real shame players won't be able to greif each other over whether or not to progress an event anymore. At least there are still forums for that purpose.

#2206107 Don't ban us for farming....

GW2's ban policy is the absolute worst I've seen in an MMO.

They literally ban players for shits and giggles, without even any breach of the EULA.

You are an absolute lunatic if you think this is true.

That's great, but then what's the point of THIS thread?  Just another bitch and moan session for people with nothing better to do than say "I told you so?"

#2199051 Colin Johanson on Magic Find and May Updates

The "locked chest system + treasure hunter title track" in GW1 was vastly superior to the current "uber magic find or low loot" fiasco in my opinion.  Making people buy lockpick/keys to get the better loot worked well and served as a decent gold sink at the same time.  The title track the served to increase your odds of not breaking a lockpick also gave incentive to do this, while simultaneously creating a "chest-running" subculture.  I'm not saying it didn't have its flaws, but at least it didn't make loot gear based like in GW2.

I would love to see magic find removed from the game entirely and the loot systems updated to reflect that (by increasing the chances of good drops in a way which is equivalent to everyone having tons of magic find.)  I personally have never felt that magic find made much sense from either a lore perspective or a gameplay one.

#2191118 Why am I a sylvari?!

Posted Dasryn on 13 April 2013 - 07:48 AM

im finding that the only armor that looks good for the sylvari are sylvari cultural and TA set.  and vice versa for other races.  i see humans in TA set all the time and im like, why didnt you just roll sylvari?

#2192354 Is it even possible to get a Legendary without playing the Trading Post?

Posted Greibach on 16 April 2013 - 06:27 PM

Definitely echoing what Verene said. I am almost finished with mine, though my precursor is FAR cheaper, and I started in February I think. Never did TP shenanigans, I just did a lot of dungeons, some fractals, regular farming, and world event chests. That's honestly it. It really does add up pretty fast if you are putting your money towards that specific goal. If you have 2 monitors, or just have some free time that you are messing around on the computer, just open up the dragon timer website and hop over and wait for an event, and do something else while you wait. I paint miniatures as a hobby, so when I want to paint, I just set up GW2 on my desk and take a 5 minute break whenever a dragon spawns.

Even with the cheap precursor, the rest of the mats are very expensive as well, so I certainly feel that I could have done it with a more expensive precursor, it just would have taken a lot longer. Now I am just filling in the rest of my T6 mats, I have everything else already done.

Who else feels legendary precursors should also be claimed from a quest?

#2176444 What to do with ascended rings?

would be nice if they could at least be salvaged for mists essence items.
