Some people looted their precursors as regular mob drops before they even hit 80. At that point it's safe to say that any sense of 'effort' you think the precursor might be worth is already invalidated.

Currently legendaries are nothing but a grind for mats or gold. The scavenger hunt is intended to make them a little more interesting to obtain and make them feel like you had to DO something legendary for them. They're currently nothing but a legendary grind.

I don't see how adding a scavenger hunt that takes a fixed amount of effort makes them any easier than someone getting lucky and getting it as a drop... obtaining the precursor has always been about luck, not gold (unless you were filthy rich).

The responses aren't likely to differ though. Everyone suffered from lag throughout the events, everyone was facing bugs, and the only people happy about the way the final rewards were handed out are the ones that got a precursor.

I don't think the forums will be much different to the survey in this case as the problems with this event were pretty much universal.

The problem is pretty simple really: ANet never bothered to balance underwater combat abilities.

How many changes have we seen that actually address  underwater balance? The only two significant ones were the engineer grenade nerf (which STILL left them more powerful than any other profession underwater) and the mesmer mantra nerf.

For some reason ANet is really paying it no attention beyond nerfing particularly OP skills.

To the comments that Eles have a lot of CC underwater... err sure on how long a cooldown? Just like on land eles suffer from horrendous cooldowns underwater that makes them incredibly inflexible in more than a 1-on-1 fight (and how often do those happen underwater?).

Lame!

Pretty sure that one's meant to be the guardian telling his allies to save themselves and leave him behind, hence why he takes all their conditions and empowers himself for a last stand.

The aesthetic issues with the guardian shouts mostly just come down to them having purposes outside of the literal meaning of the shout which leads to odd situations (such as using retreat to charge as the OP points out).
