The Guardian is just behind the warrior when it comes to possible combinations of weapons and is exactly on par when it comes to the number of available sets (namely 11 which is the highest in the game at the moment). Maybe you shouldn't be giving advice if you have no idea what you are talking about? Source: http://wiki.guildwar..._by_professions
I would advise you to play a Mesmer because I think it's the best among all the scholars fro what you are looking for. Among the Adventurers I believe the Ranger stands out given it has much greater access to weapons than the other two and offers you the opportunity to collect pets. Finally I would recommend the Guardian from the Heavies because it's probably the most popular class in the game right now

The weapon sets that Guardian has mostly lack viability. The torch is never used, the scepter is rarely used, the staff is somewhat useful but ultimately weak, and the GS, Hammer, and Sword/Focus are the only truly used and viable weapon sets for guardian. I'm not saying they don't have the variety in weapons, I'm saying most of them plainly suck. Maybe you should enlighten yourself before you spew out nonsense. Warriors do have a much larger weapon pool (21 for wars compared to 14 for guardians) and almost all weapon combinations for warrior can dish out damage well or provide good support.
If you are stuck between Guardian and Warrior, Vherax, and you prefer Guardian, I would say just play guardian and dress him/her however you like.
