In Topic: Achievements you wish there were titles for

15 April 2013 - 08:23 AM

I've got a few I'd like and feel should be added, I'll list the reasoning (though some have already been said in the thread)

Champion of Orr - Personal Story completion. You do actually get this title, it's given to you in the story-line, but you don't ACTUALLY get it.

Colourful/Dye Master - Obtaining all dyes, as stated earlier. This is actually kind of prestigious.

Fractal Stabilizer - Not sure what it should be for this. Maybe over 200 (or 500?) fractals completed or getting up to level 50 fractals, seeing as above 50, mechanically speaking is nigh on impossible and ArenaNet had no actual intention for people to hit 80, though maybe even 80 could be the achievement

Slayer of All - Complete all Slayer Achievements. This would be especially hard, considering that not many people have maxed the Giant Slayer achievement (mine's sitting on 3)

Jump Master - All jumping puzzles completed

Guild Loyalist - Earn over 10,000 influence for a single guild, can not be bought influence.

That's most of the ones I'd like to see, but the game could surely use a few more interesting titles.

In Topic: The 5 Signet Build and Why Nobody Should Use It

Way overcomplicating it.

Healing Signet has a horrible rate compared to Surge.  FGJ adds 15 stacks of Might and 40 seconds of Fury.  Banner of Discipline adds 50% crit damage and 450 Precision.  It isn't even a comparison.

As an aside, do people even play these at 80?  I mean, when the game was new you would see 5 sig warriors in Orr, and occasionally some scrub would try to use one in a dungeon pug.  But I assumed that even the bads figured out this was scrub-bait like 4 months ago.  This strikes me as an anachronism.

You'd be surprised at how often I encounter level 80s running at least 4 signets. It's more common than you think. Besides, I figured since most people running it don't actually understand why it's so bad other than "these numbers aren't as good as these numbers" I'd write down all the other reason (encouraging laziness, no support, no control, etc).

The ones in WvW are adorable.
They're even better to fight.

You don't like signet wars and encourage them to change to a wammo build?

Healing warriors: The bane of GW2 Pugs
Well for starters, that's only part of your traits. You're forgetting someone can spec 40 traits into other lines. It just so happens that if you're running for a high vitality build (because when it comes to conditions, vitality > toughness and the warrior doesn't really have much cond removal) the Shouts heal trait is probably the best. Full zerker 30 30 0 0 10 isn't really the way to go in most dungeons that aren't CoF, but this wasn't the topic of the thread, so I'll leave it at: Shouts heal =/= Healing Warriors.

In Topic: Lore behind legendary weapons?

I'd hazard a guess and say The Moot is a norn thing.

Flameseeker prophecies is easy enough to figure out.

Sunrise/Twilight/Eternity is probably something to do with the Gods or the High Priest of Orr.

Frostfang is most likely a Jormag thing.

Kraitkin is probably some kind of Krait artifact.

There is no official law, but we can make educated guesses.

The best idea would be to guest to the least populated server, to avoid overflow as much as possible, so IoJ is not an ideal candidate and neither is SBI.

Except for the fact that IoJ is pretty much dead in most areas. Come take a look tomorrow. There isn't many here, our temples are taken a lot of the time, but were the server to actually be organised everything would always be capped.

I vote isle of Janthir.

Sounds fun.

It also sounds like they are FINALLY rewarding players for their SKILL. It's stupid that we can see noobs running around in full Arah gear. Good on ArenaNet. I hope that by being extremely good at this I can possibly make enough to buy my legendary :D
