I just hope that we don't actually need to complete the jumping puzzle to get the title, I've done everything else (except the unavailable "party" one) and I'd like the title for all my hard work.

They already said you don't need that for the title. That is the point its hard but not needed. Just some challenging content for the people that want to try/complete it.

#1639929 Name claim period is too short!

Having read this thread from start to finish (I know, what the hell am I thinking, right?) I notice two prevailing opinions.
  • If you need your name to be reserved, you should go for more original names, because what are the chances someone would pick a completely original name before you got the chance to claim it?
  • It's completely unfair to new players to keep so many names locked for a long time.
If both of these are true, the onus to come up with original names is apparently exclusively on GW1 players.

So here's a thought: if a 2+ word name is already taken, just come up with an original one, regardless of whether you are a fresh face or a GW1 veteran. It doesn't matter if it's already taken because someone reserved it in GW1, or because someone just beat you to it in GW2. If it's taken, it's an unoriginal name, and we don't care about unoriginal names. (Apparently.) If it were original, it wouldn't be taken. If we're going to berate people for having created unoriginal names in GW1, why should we care if someone can't take such an unoriginal name in GW2?

I'm changing my position to: let every name ever created in GW1 be reserved until the end of time, and let all the unclaimed "Xlx Legolas Xlx"-es wither and die in that old game. Good riddance!
