I didn't. It seems cool, but I am having too much fun doing other things.

Yesterday, the centaur camping boiling into a Seraph camp in the Hinterlands. There were only about 3 of us there, besides the npc toon support. We got spanked. Just rolled. We held off wave after wave, but they kept coming and eventually, the little knoll was surrounded. I had to jump off the cliff into the water when it was apparent that we couldn't hold the camp.
I felt TERRIBLE. Like I let the Seraph down. And that was kinda cool.
I was a bit underleveled for the instance (I was 36 vs. 37-38), but it was the sheer numbers of Centaurs that was astounding. I don't think we could have held if there were 10 players trying. We needed something like 20. As I threw myself off the cliff, I glanced at the bridge where the centaurs initiated the attack and there was like 30, just waiting to behind the main attacking force. Daaaamnnn.... the centaurs had reserves!!!
I vow to go back and take that camp when I can gather my guildies (and a level or two)!
So. To the OP, yeah, it is cool when the DE fails. And I still got a gold contribution, but a lot less if there was a success. And I was happy with that (as I've been spending Karma for gear n recipes like no one's business).

I've been really sucked into crafting, I'm doing jewellery and artificing for my main toon and tailor and cooking for my 2ndary. So, a lot of my exploring has been looking for materials. And I'm having a BALL!!!! I'm really enjoying this game and I loved GW1. Combat is nice and peppy. I haven't found it repetitive at all...maybe because main toon is Ele, but I switch between attunements depending on the foes, not in some set pattern.
Have not made it to Lion's Arch yet. I really should go. But I'm finding so much to do elsewhere.
My ele is 20th and just cracked jewellry 50. Opening up a whole new batch of recipes! !
Can't wait to play some more. But work and duty call in real life!

I got kicked out of the game once. Sent a report, got right back in, my toon didn't lose a thing, I was right where I was when kicked. So, I appreciate that. And it might have even been something on my end.
But I've had a pretty good headstart except for the very first few hours where I couldn't get in and I was chombing at the bit to play. But since then, it has been very good.

I'd love to make Elric of Melnibone (if anyone know him, thumbs up, my friend!)
An albino exiled prince with a soul-stealing sword... so I can see a warrior or guardian with greatsword, maybe warrior because of "blood" trail some skills have ... and black armor and a thin sword skin for a greatsword(maybe a "vampiric" attribute)
I can see a lot of Legolas(Sylvari) and Aragorn in the game, and also many Gimli Norns, with their complain of "why can't I make my Norn short like a dwarf?" , and I also see myself making Saber from Fate/stay Night, guardian of course with greatsword and sword/focus-shield. And I'll make her if I see there are "dresses" for Heavy armor...
Also, from Clive Barker's ABARAT book series, a Necromancer named Mater Motley with dagger/dagger - staff... unfortunately, we can't make mummy-looking characters... and also for male necromancer, Christopher Carrion...
From a book series The Looking Glass wars, a more dark version of Alice in wonderland(or as I say how Tim Burton SHOULD have made Alice in Wonderland) we have the Mad Hatter, an elite assasin, se we go for thief with dagger/dagger and Alice as Mesmer, because her weapon is imagination...
Other characters I like can't be implemented in the GW2 universe..yet... we'll see what will happen with future expansions...

My main GW1 toon was named Corwin Hawkmoon... a combo of two of Moorcock's eternal hero literary creations.
