#2221327 The NEW Guardian Anchor Build

Posted Arewn on 23 July 2013 - 01:07 AM

Charmander vs Gangar.... I don't know who to pick. Gangar seems stronger atm, but  Charmander has a lot of potential and room to grow.

I wish you wouldn't have made this video. If Anet sees this they will nerf it.

#2189810 Ranger Rumors vs. Reality?

Posted Kitsune on 10 April 2013 - 08:44 AM

Ranger was my second class to get to 80, and I'm now working on my 5th.

Properly built, my Elementalist and Mesmer absolutely DWARF the damage dealing potential of my ranger, who I have attempted several builds to attempt to maximize their damage to the fullest.

Ranger raw damage problems include:

1.) Very Few Damage Amplifier Traits. And These Dont Apply to Pets (!!)

2.) Innately Lower Weapon Damage Compared to Other Professions

3.) Most Melee Pets Are Bugged and Do Not Cleave 3 Targets

4.) Pets do not scale with your gear choices or progression in any way, so we get less effectiveness out of our stat allocations

So in the end, if you go a full melee ranger, not only will your "best" damage weapon, the Sword, not keep up with other melee attacks, it doesnt even cleave on all three hits. AND your highest potential damage pets, Cats, do not Cleave hit.

Even if you add in a Cats damage as "raw" damage to the ranger's melee potential (with either Sword or GS), you don't come anywhere near a warrior, mesmer, thief, or elementalists potential damage, AND most of those profesisons also melee cleave with most of their damage builds!

So until those issues are fixed, rangers will always and forever be gimped for going berserker stats. Their condition builds are fine, but there are a huge laundry list of issues with condition damage that have yet to be addressed.

My recommendation would be for a minor trait at 25 Beast mastery to passively transfer 25% of your stats from gear to your pet. This would allow berserker gear to scale up Cat's damage potential, allow all non-ranged pets to cleave hit 3 targets like most melee skills, and then slightly improve the auto-attacks of the Greatsword and Sword to bring them + pets (with scaling from the new minor trait) to be in the same ball park as everyone else.

This would mean that a full beast mastery specialized ranger, managing to keep his pet alive, while in melee range, would at the very least be in the same ball park as a dagger dagger thief landing his backstabs consistently, or slightly above herpderp warrior build that is easy to play, but still bellow the ultimate lightning hammer glass cannon ele, which has the highest "risk factor" of losing its damage.

#1819846 Why are guardians and warriors considered overpowered?

Posted JWZ on 25 August 2012 - 05:08 PM

Because people think in this way:

You get killed by class X, you play class Y. Class X is overpowered. Class Y is underpowered.
You get killed by class X, you also play class X. The other player has no life.
You kill someone. He is a noob and should l2p.

M90 & G700 - Avago (better i think) sensor
G700 you can also use (buy) other cable with micro-usb ( http://www.amazon.co...&n=&s=&v=glance for example, u can find cheaper too, and better too)
M.M.O. 7 - best customisation!
M90 - usable only with latest driver!

All - if you can try it in shop - you need to touch for example Naga - you don't know if it fits with your hand!

If they remove the underwater cap point then there is no reason for the map to exist.

#1786881 Longbow just got butchered: -20% damage output

Posted Chuggs on 22 August 2012 - 02:42 PM

The thread title is VERY misinformative.  What Anet did was add a layer of complexity to Longbow play, and move damage at long/short ranges closer to the mean.  From the front page of GW2Guru:

Long Bow
  • Barrage Damage: 1992.166. Damage: 2656.221.
  • Hunter's Shot 15 12 sec Cooldown. Physical Projectile Finish Type.Damage: 276.6897. 221.3518.Vulnerability(10s): +1% Incoming Damage. ) 10 Stacks : +1% Incoming Damage.
  • Long Range Shot Physical Projectile (20% chance) Finish Type.1000+ Range: 579.0583. 498.0415.500-1000 Range: 405.3408. 359.6966. 0-500 Range: 231.6233. 276.6897.
  • Point Blank Shot Physical Projectile Finish Type.Damage: 586.2805. 442.7036.
  • Rapid Fire Physical Projectile (20% chance) Finish Type.Damage: 2316.233. 2075.173.
The key to the changes is that Hunter's Shot now provides 10% vulnerability instead of 1%, so although you have lost some white damage on your LB autoattack, you now have 10% greater damage on everything for ten seconds after Hunter's.  Hunter's cooldown also dropped from 15 to 12 seconds, if you have 20% reduced cooldowns you can functionally keep +10% vuln up at all times.  While you're still going to come up slightly short of old damage number, including the 10% vulnerability the net decrease in longbow is only a couple of percentage points.  Your damage at short range with LB went up, and Barrage got buffed substantially.  It's a nerf, but nowhere near the amount that OP claims.

Do some of you guys really base your decision on what class to roll depending on what got nerfed or not? This is an MMO, changes happen all the time, Anet has way more information at their hands in order to balance the game.

Stop being so overdramatic about a change (Number balancing) to one skill.

#1773021 No more medium armour long coats

Posted Treble on 20 August 2012 - 06:35 PM

Yes please!

More variety. I want shorts, skirts (without the leggings), tunics, jerkins, cuirass, brigandines, vambraces, lamellars, mail, etc. So many variations of medium armor, both leather and mail, and some cloth with leather accents. It's a shame that whoever designed medium armor in GW2 has such a limited idea of armor types. They're basically all trenchcoats with bandanas.

I wouldn't mind some more skimpy armor for all the armor classes either, but that's just me.

#1765477 How many of you have changes classes since the Nerfs?

Posted Zigmer on 19 August 2012 - 03:14 PM

Not me, I don't make choices based on Patch notes, or silly premade builds that people claim are the only viable way to do things.
I form my own choices & opinions :)

#1757715 Is the Ranger For Me?

Posted Siveon on 18 August 2012 - 04:50 AM

Like all profession it depends more on your play-style than the profession it self. The question of how repetitive they are is a bit subjective since they are all repetitive in their own way, you have to think more on the line of "Rangers have to deal with the pet, are you ok with that?". Many people see the ranger as a ranged class and they want to ignore the pet, but it is a integral part of the Ranger in both dmg and utility, so if you can't handle a bit of light management(its not that complex) its probably not for you.

One of the great things about the ranger is that hes flexibility goes beyond being melee or ranged in combat because you and your pet are a team, its a third arm which you can tweak to your liking. The pet can be a tank, melee/ranged DPS or even support, a devourer can even kite a bit.

Will you use the pet to balance your weakness or will you use it to enhance your strong points? It's up to you.
