OK, I'm an idiot. I admit it. I sat at the trading post spamming the buy button this morning trying to get my hands on some coarse leather to finish up that level in leatherworking.
I would of thought that the default behavior would be to throw out the transaction if you press the buy button and don't get a success message and no money is deducted.
But, no. All those button presses are persisted and eventually will get processed by whatever borked reconciliation system they have in place.
I've been watching my money disappear all day. Made the mistake of picking up some of the refunds (a small portion actually gets refunded appropriately) and now all that is disappearing.
Make some money. Then that disappears too.
So, the lesson to be learned here is:
Don't ever spam the buy button.
