Will Pure of Voice conflict with Rune of the Soldier?

The 6th slot for Rune of the Soldier removes a condition upon shout, while Pure of Voice turns a condition to a boon upon shout. Which one procs first? If I have 1 condition only will I get the boon or just lose the condition? Also if I have 2 conditions, will I lose them both and recieve 1 boon when i shout?

Melee attack assist

In combat options there is a checkbox for "melee attack assist". Can someone explain how this works please? Thanks for any help!

Reels over player's heads?

I've been playing GW2 since first beta weekend and this is odd. About an hour before the big finale in bwe2 I was in the human starting area and there appeared 3 players with no guild tags and each one had what looked like a movie film reel over their heads. I've never seen this before and before i could ask them about it they zoned out. Any ideas? Were they recording video or something?
