There's a thief on Tarnished Coast named "Cube" and I just accepted that this person was you. However now I see you're on Ring of Fire, so this thief is probably a cyborg from the future or something.

This is a good point and the main reason I too think it should be implemented. Not to mention the other good point about the 250 year difference between games, giving the developers a logical reason to alter Cantha (somewhat) drastically.
