It's like they are rubbing it all over our Ele faces >.< I wish they had simply split the skill.

Radiant, Hellfire, and Zenith so it seems like there's 3. And from the looks of it it's just Helmet, Shoulder, and Glove skins. I am a bit annoyed that there is yet again another set of fire-themed equipment, people really think spiky+fire armor is real edgy huh?

Yes, just a mere two weeks after the Sky Pirates of Tyria, the next batch of living story content will fly its way into Guild Wars 2. Aside from the the standard new events, mini games, rewards, and story content, the Bazaar of the Four Winds will also include a new "movement experience" that so far remains a mystery.  Check out the official press release below, then read on for details on what goodies you can expect next Tuesday.


SEATTLE – July 2, 2013: ArenaNet today announced it has formalized plans to maintain a two-week major release cadence for Guild Wars 2, and revealed the latest content update to the game’s Living Story, Bazaar of the Four Winds, scheduled to go live on July 9.

ArenaNet has been delivering new content to Guild Wars 2 at an increased pace since January, and is now maintaining a 14-day rate, bringing players exciting new features, events, rewards and storylines at a frequency unmatched by any other Western studio. Today’s decision affirms the studio’s continued commitment to that effort, and means players can expect Tyria to remain one of the most frequently updated and best supported online worlds in the industry.

In the newest update, Bazaar of the Four Winds, merchants are converging from all corners of Tyria to sell their wares. The gathering will feature more than just shady characters and risky trades because, this year, the mystical flying Zephyr Sanctum has landed, bringing magical crystals and amazing movement skills to traders and adventurers alike.

In addition to experiencing movement in a new way, players will partake in new themed-events and join in the thrill of the trade. Also included in this update:

New Events
  • Belcher’s Bluff Mini-game: Players can put their Omnomberry Juice drinking skills to the test in this new, permanent mini-game, and challenge their friends in PvP mode.
  • Sanctum Sprint Race: Navigate a dizzying obstacle course in this competitive race that will send players leaping over barriers and flying through the air.
  • Lessons from the Sky Scavenger Hunt: Players will need to show their mastery of wind, sun and lightning as they search for Sky Crystals and explore hard-to-reach places in the Labyrinthine Cliffs.
  • Developer Livestream: Get an early look inside the release during a preview livestream (www.twitch.tv/guildwars2) with ArenaNet developers on Monday, July 8 at noon (PT).
New Rewards
  • Aspect Back Items: Players can compete in the Sanctum Sprint for a chance to earn one of three special back items representing the aspects of wind, sun and lightning.
  • Personal Quartz Node: Once players complete the meta achievement for this release, their home instance will have a daily resource node, allowing the harvesting of quartz – a new material being introduced in this release for crafting new recipes.
  • Zephyr Sanctum Model: Players who complete the Lessons from the Sky achievement will be awarded a miniature model of the Zephyr Sanctum, allowing them to view the ship at any time, even after it has flown away.
New Features
  • Account Achievement Reward System: Starting with this release, players can unlock rewards like exclusive new armor skins, weapon skins and permanent account bonuses as they earn achievement points. They can also earn laurels, gems, gold, powerful items, and PvP and WvW rewards as achievement scores grow.
  • New PvP Map – Skyhammer: Players can battle for control of three capture points in the new Skyhammer map, a high-tech Asura lab packed with jump pads, shattering floor panels and a gigantic, mega cannon.

Haha, there is a lot of criticism about those unicorns. I presonally find them amusing and belive is something that fits the game, we need more silliness from time to time. Guild Wars 2 isn't exactly a dark fantasy game.

While i play thief, this weapon will not suit the character i created and i will not go for it, but Arena Net said that they will add more Legendaries , so no worries folks, you will get a cookie too :P

People are really taking the rainbow weapons personally huh? You do know that it is optional right? If you want to look like an angsty teenager whose 'dark' and 'edgy' that's great and wholly original but some of us actually enjoy the Bifrost and Dreamer's rainbows, they're lovely. Opinions man, gotta love 'em.

First of all, it's the Bifrost, not the bitfrost.. wtf

Second of all, the Bifrost is one of the cooler Legendaries, I agree rainbow ponies is a bit over the top but who am I to judge what other people want. Just because it has colors doesn't make it childish or gay, only a truly immature person would think that.

With the recent sale of the character slot, I have bought myself a 8th slot for my last profession.

When I got the new slot in my account, I am surprised to see that I cannot see all 8 of my characters in the login screen (the login screen can see only 7 character slots).

I am assuming here that to be able to see 8 slots would be the optimal number as there are 8 profession in the game. Hence I am hoping Anet would change the login to support 8 slots instead of 7.

I understand that this is a low priority request and most probably be ignored :(

So how about you guys? What would be the optimal number of characters you would like to see in the login screen?

If this was the end of the month and this was all we had gotten I would agreed, but that is not the case, so why not wait until we have the whole event before we complain about it?

Because if we were all like you, my well esteemed nemesis Lordkrall, we would do nothing but sit on our hands and praise ArenaNet. Undeservingly too.

At this rate people are complaining about trends, not about what the Dragon Bash puts on the table. Which isn't much by the way.

Indicates that there's not going to be a dragon festival.

I think the hint was in Faren's talk about judging Divinity’s Reach Fanciest Cat competition.  Clearly there's a brewing civil war over the event.  But I think we'll find that the Mursaat are behind it, ultimately revealing that the last remaining aspect of Lazarusthe Dire is posessing Chauncey von Snuffles III.

I simply commented on the fact that people whine about RNG, and when ArenaNet adds a non-RNG way to get stuff people whine about that as well.

Coffers is an example of RNG, and no shit a percentage of any community ever will always whine about something, but whether or not those complaints are valid is another story. For 3 updates in a row Anet has added new features with decent content (remains to be seen in this update) with the shitty RNG cloud hanging over it, molten weapons, sclerite weapons, and now jade weapons. The content is decent, no one complained about molten facility, no one complained about southsun getting revamped, why is it so bad to tie the rewards that people want into the content itself, rather than having content on one hand and lottery boxes on the other? It's as if the real game is throwing money at GW2 while content is just a bonus...

Or they could make engaging content through which these desire-able weapons may be delivered. But who am I kidding, there's no room for enjoyment in MMOs these days given the superlative paradigms of work and reward. Players obviously need dangled rewards and there must be obtuse, time-consuming, un-engaging and oh-so redundant obstacles between the player their reward. This is content... or that's how it's being sold anyway. Oh and since GW2 is so graciously F2P, players are encouraged to throw indeterminable amounts of wealth at lottery boxes to obtain their rewards. We have to feed the devs that give us this content, after all, so they can give us even more content!.

I know this because I logged in against my better judgement to experience this content. Ignoring the shinies that for once piqued my interest, I did so in hopes of seeing improvement in content design that should have been there after 8 months of developing the game. If I had known that ANet's current idea of content is competitive grinding (of all things), a poorly tuned mini-game, and straight up gambling, I would have saved Tuesday night doing something more productive. I wouldn't have even humored the thought of obtaining those for once well-designed seasonal cosmetics. The game they're used in isn't worth the amount of work its content requires of me.
