Operation BFA (Bags/Boxes/Pouches for All)

Hello my name is Thomas, but everyone just refers to me as Gears in the guild wars community. My IGN is “ Gears Powered “. I don’t have any alts, nor do I have any second accounts. I am apart of a fairly decent size guild and I’ve decided I wanted to start a project that provides low level and new players with essentials, that would make their playing experience much more enjoyable from the start. (And I have full support from my guild, which has been making this easier! ) Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve been thinking about this since BWE 1 and I think it’s really plausible. I’m currently a tailor and weaponsmith, and pretty much a craft whore. All I do is salvage and craft stuff currently.  So without further ado, here’s the operation.


What I’m trying to do

• Supply new players with bags and possibly gear (farther into launch)
  
• Help new players with tips/tricks and answer any and all questions
  
• Build a sense of community
  
• Show people what the Guild Wars 2 community is really made of.

Rules to receiving a bag

• Be honest. If you don’t need bags don’t ask for them. I’m not looking to make any gold off of players, so you shouldn’t either.
  
• There are pretty much no rules to receiving a bag. You don’t need to join my guild, you don’t have to be in a guild, nor do you need to not be in a guild.
  
• Limit 2 bags/weapons per person (For now)
  
• Currently only 8 slot bags will be given away. (For now)
  
• Be sure to mention that you received a bag!
  
• If you’re on the waiting list, please be patient, I can only make so many bags at a time.
  
• Please send back the bags once you’ve upgraded them. I’ll make sure they get a good home.

This sounds neat! How can I help?

There are all sorts of ways to help. Here are some (But not limited to)

• Tell people about this! The more that know, the better we can help each other
  
• Mail me your scraps. Whether it’s jute or 8 slot bags/pouches/boxes. I’ll be sure to hand them out.
  
• Join in on the cause. If you don’t want to send me anything, send people on the waiting list (Notify me though before you do it, so we can coordinate this better) a bag or weapon.  (Heck, if I can get other crafting professions to help out, it’d be great!)

This sounds neat! When does it start?
This will all launch 8/28/2012 around noon-1pm EST.  This will be signified by the official launch of guild wars 2.
(That gives me a little more time to salvage and make more bags)
If you’d like to donate towards the cause, you may do so anytime before. The more bags I have from the start, the more people I can help at “launch”.

If this proves to be as successful as I plan on making it to be, I’ll start giving out higher level bags as well as weapons and armor. If you or your guild is interested in this, please pm me and we can work something out. I have no problem promoting guilds or players that are interested in helping out a good cause . If I get as much support as I hope for, I’ll up the limit of bags to 4, but right now I can only craft as fast as I can farm!
