They admitted they wanted power progression to pubstomp on undergeared people to feel pro.
They admitted they wanted auto-follow target, passive blocks/dodges and WoW ezmode tank gimmicks.
They admitted they zerged in dungeons and WvW because they couldn't come up with a strategy.
They admitted they wanted the game to tell them what to do at 80 and felt completely lost when they were told what to do is to have fun and how to do it is up to them.
The more time goes the more we're disclosing why some people got "bored" of GW2.
They bought a chessboard and wondered why drawing X'es and 0's didn't work as well as it did on their tic-tac-toe board.
This says a lot about this gen of MMO gamers, they don't bother reading anything on a game they just expect it to be another WoW clone that spoon-feeds them with informations, holds their hand into time-sinks and gives them easy, brain-dead ways of overcoming content.
I'm so happy the truth is finally coming out and the real GW2 community is forming; I thought we'd need a lot less than two months tho.
I believe in a couple weeks we'll finally be able to lay back in the chair and talk normally without having to swim in a sea of traditional MMO ADD lifeless zombies.

No, seriously, if people didn't buy gold this wouldn't exist. ANet can do nothing to stop the problem, only curb it. It's up to gamers to stop creating demand for the service.

What? Where the hell did you pull that number out from? Probably somewhere stinky..

When the players who bought those copies hopped online, they created more than 200,000 player accounts on day one. By the evening of launch day, the game cracked more than 100,000 concurrent users, filling more than 40 servers to capacity.

Fanboy's... Always gotta make a big drama out of everything. These numbers are hardly comparable either as when WoW launched the MMO market was a lot more of a niche then it is today. But at least get your facts straight.

The game is doing fantastically well. So many sales they've had to stop making new serials, near universal acclaim in reviews, and everyone in game seems to be loving it
Leave haters, to, well, hate.

* Name bans
* Hate speech bans (with hilariously outed "innocent people")
* Botting bans
* Respawning DE exploit rollbacks and bans.
* Exploits like karma vendor bans.
Let me be the one to say loudly: Good job. You just set very high standard. And made sure people listen because 3 day ban is very harsh right after start. Hopefully this will make anyone think thrice before doing something stupid.
Thumbs up.

Looking forward to launch in a few hours... and I'm sure I'll run into many of you in game.
Anyhow, over the course of however many months I started lurking here I have learned quite a bit from you all... from good advice, or different viewpoints, to the trolltastic powers of Sid (stop getting banned!) et al., to friendships formed both here and in game... it was a pretty fun run. Good times, good fun, and a good heaping of bold unadulterated debate and discussion in this weird but lively marketplace of ideas.
So... /salute as we delve deep into Tyria, or more so for us, Stonemist and the Borderlands!
Azy~

That quote should make it clear that what certain individuals here are practicing, is indeed elitism. You feel that your level of skill is vastly superior to some others and therefore you're better. In addition, you feel that the people 'below' shouldn't be allowed to be in your vicinity because you must 'work' harder in order to achieve the group goals.
As if the success of the group would require some measurable amount of 'work' to complete.
The behaviour we're observing here is exclusive, destructive and separative. There's nothing good in it. When people say that they won't/can't bother to educate the 'lesser tier' of gamers, it shows merely that this kind of people aren't interested in sharing their supposed achievements. They only want to revel in personal glory and possibly entertain themselves by despising the people 'below' them. Working together towards a common goal is not part of the plan.
There's a bizarre piece of logic at work here that assumes that these 'non-skilled' people aren't working as hard as the supposed pro. Even if there would be people who aren't equal in terms of gameplay skill, it's downright ludicrous to assume that they aren't doing their best. Some people just are slower than others. Some people don't study optimal builds. Some people don't min/max their stats. As a lot of people have mentioned, the aim is to have fun and eventually the important thing is whether you can or can't clear the dungeon. Boss dies or won't die. That's all there is to it.
The original issue (how to - how was it put? - avoid dps noobs) in itself is very simple to solve. If you don't enjoy human diversity and socializing with new people, form a solid group with your friends and/or guild and play with the 'trusted' ones. That's it, problem solved. Many people who don't enjoy the randomness of gamers in PUGs (pick-up-group) do this.
There's absolutely no need to start bashing complete strangers only because you personally feel that they aren't doing what you want (aka achieve certain level of performance skill). If we'd run societies with this mindset, we'd be burning people alive again. Not the most healthy thing to aim for.
