While is was quite entertaining to watch people get banned this way, it also encouraged people to break rules in order to get a glimpse of it. Countless times I've run into people swearing in LA and a bunch of people around that person to see it. People probably used their alternate accounts for this. I'm not against the idea, anet should just be ready to temp suspend alot of accounts for swearing if they ever add this xD

#2182207 State of the Dungeon Crowd - Good or Bad?

Posted matsif on 21 March 2013 - 08:49 PM

I really hope anet decided to blow up CoF and redo it like they did AC this past patch.  All the above screens show is how unbalanced the difficulty is between dungeons and certain paths, and how the scrubs migrate to the most unbalanced one and then complain that 1 warrior not in full zerker took an extra minute out of their life.  It's ridiculous, and as ridiculous as after anet decided to allow perma-shadow form in GW1 to take over most forms of PvE farming in elite areas.

Anet drops a hammer on CoF (especially path 1), the tears are delicious, and then the mindless pugs wait a week and cry the whole time until they find the next fastest dungeon run for mindless pugs.

#2177106 Remove Account/Sould Bound = Less Grind?

Posted Arewn on 09 March 2013 - 11:12 PM

You can already buy exotics on the TP, no real point in being able to buy dungeon exotics on the TP since you're only going after them out of desired grind, not need, in the first place.
Ascended might be nice to see on the TP, but since they've been coming out with more ways to get them it's mattering less and less that you can't.

Posted Lordkrall on 09 March 2013 - 10:22 PM

Nope.

If the ONLY way to get exotics was by doing to dungeons I might have agreed, but as of know you run dungeons for the SKINS. Being able to get those skins without even going into the dungeon would be quite silly in my eyse.

#2182034 make followers removable

I have no idea what the purpose of the ''followers'' thing is. They are essentially just friend requests that you can't remove.

Kholer is easymode...you just dodge his skill which draws you in.

His grap skill can be stopped by Stability and even reflecting skills (mesmer bubble, guardian wall...)
This boss is just a joke when you know when to use the right skills at the right time.

He's actually a complete joke to fight but I don't risk it in pugs because it takes forever when people don't know how to watch animations...

Just like in GW1 Money or coin is EASY to come by if you know how. It's not my responsibility to make sure you have enough money for repairs but the game design is about "playing" not looking up my skirt. Therefore no you won't be doing that. Plus the more restrictions you place on what players should and shouldn't have the more time you will WASTE waiting for a group to play with. It's a FRICKING GAME igmo play it like one and not like it's a part of your life and you just can't fail ever. It just amazes me how some put sooooooooo much into a silly game. Learn to FAIL and you will go far in life. ;)

You won't succumb to gear checks, you leave my group. It's that simple. You can go fail elsewhere. I've failed many a time in the game, many times were my fault, but I've improved on my skills and decided not to make others fail due to my being underequipped for the content. All I ask is that you give me the same consideration. But it's plain to see that you'll gladly troll a level 25 group with your measly 5 AR thinking you've got the SKILLZ to handle the agony, or that your crew will rez you in the middle of fighting for their own lives. That's not team playing, that's being a selfish little shit without any consideration for others.

They should do it in tiers: 1-10, 11-20, 21-30 etc. Painfully obvious to everyone except Anet apparently.

#2150204 Why do people want mounts?

Because spending 50s+ on Waypoints is stupid. (Yesterday doing Jumping Puzzles for January Achievement)

So because you don't understand that simply getting to the start of the JP counts, that each character's arrival at that location counts, and that it resets daily, it means that Anet's culpable for your expenditure of way too much silver to complete that achievement?

I got that achievement done for free 2 days into the month by sending my 5 characters to the three jumping puzzles in LIon's Arch daily. Something I already did considering the chance of rares and exotics from the two larger chests.

Yes, spending 50+ silver on waypoints is stupid. You're aware that you can recoup the costs of one nearby waypoint by killing a few monsters and getting one level 74+ green, right? There's no reason not to waypoint because of the cost. There are always weak non-hostile animals near waypoints for you to gank and loot. Takes a couple minutes tops of actually playing the game to recover that waypoint cost.

Mounts are simply gimmicky bragging-right garbage mechanics with no use in GW2, compared to the games that already have them.

Why do people want cars?

Because the first-world nations of this planet are populated with needy, entitled lazy fat-asses who can't ride a bicycle.

I NEED cars to get where I need to go, where I live. Riding a bike at 40 below isn't feasible. People who live in the city want cars because they don't want to walk 15 feet to the nearest bus station. They'd rather spend tens of thousands on that flashy Mercedes and another couple hundred a month on parking fees than the dollar-fifty for the bus fare, so they don't have to sit next to the unwashed masses.

Just like people in GW2 WANT to spend hundreds of gold on mounts to show them off and clog up the environment rather than kill a few creatures to recover waypoint costs, or simply WALK.

#2148992 Why do people want mounts?

Posted Fenice_86 on 23 January 2013 - 01:03 PM

My reason for "not wanting" mounts is:

Developing them needs people, time, efforts from devs

Game has already enought stuff they need to do BEFORE this total superfluous things.

Posted Sword Hammer Axe on 23 January 2013 - 12:43 PM

Not only do I want mounts. I want EPIC mounts! I want to tie a boar to each of my Charr's hind paws and use them to skate around Diessa Plateau, firing Charrzooka shots at everything that moves! I want my Norn to make an underwater chariot pulled by Icebrood Quaggan by using a long stick with a regular Quaggan tied to the end of it! I want my Asura to make a Golem that thinks it's a horse and therefore does all the things a horse would regularly do + flames shooting out of its butt as it charges forward!

I never really understood it either. Despite asking it multiple times, nobody has ever given me a good reason to add them to the game. The only replies you usually get is "it's fun", "other games also have mounts" and "I like collecting things".

#2143202 Does GW2 seem overly "Mathy" to you

I'm really baffled by your implication that GW2 is more complex mathematically than GW. Did we play the same games? It is true that GW2 has many cases where the numbers are not displayed for an effect, or the numerical effect is incomplete or just incorrect.

Regarding your last line, speak for yourself.

Why are you baffled? It's true that GW2 combat contains a lot more RNG, similar to WoW.
