That doesnt miss the point. Weather or not it is an ethical problem is irrelevent. The only way we have of changing it is by not buying it.
If people continue to buy it it will continue to be offered. If we decide this RNG stuff is kind of wrong, and we collectively dont buy it then they may be forced to change.
That is not ignoring the problem that is doing what you can about it. Because no matter what the forums say if sales remain strong that is an indicator that their is demand.

So now take the psychological DESIRE for status and couple that with the psychological aspect of gambling, both as it relates to behaviorism (see: Skinner Box) and the fact that gambling addiction is a disease - and you have what amounts to a full fledged ethical dilemma.
Yes, people don't have to buy the boxes. But, that is not the question. The question is whether it is ethical to incorporate two giant psychological attractions to basically take advantage of the weak willed players in the game merely for profit.
Also, let's not assume that just because a company needs to profit, that is the answer to that question. There are plenty of ways to create profit without lowering oneself to exploiting your player base.
I just imagine the developers thinking "a fool and his money are soon parted" right as they hit the button to launch the new update.

As usual Arenanet antagonizes players by doing the exact opposite of what is requested.
The two devs involved obviously show enthusiasm for certain classes in PVP and their demeanor gets sullen and bored when talking about other classes,
Try this little experiment, mark down the time codes for when they talk about thief, eles, warriors, rangers ,engineers etc.
The turn off the sound and make a note of the visual cues they send during those portions. They get all animated and smile often when on the topic of thieves, eles, and warrors, and turn dour, frown, and take defensive body positions when on the topics of rangers.
They go on and on about adding more micromanagement to thieves as a good thing, while they pooh pooh a single additional improvement to Ranger pet control as too much micromanagement. That's just plain bull. Seeing those two stances so close together just illustrates how biased they are against Rangers and PVE balancing in general.
If you listen to the stream backwards it repeats "WE HATE YOU, YES YOU!" nineteen times.

We'll most likely be fighting a villain similar to this:

With Rox and Braham pairing up and most likely dueling the "final hybrid menace" like this:

Braham will most likely die in battle like this:

And Rox will most likely be enraged and fight the hybrid menace like this:

The player most likely jumps in at this time of the battle, fatally wounds, and knocks back the hybrid menace down a hole like this:

And the living story will most likely end like this:

This feature was in Guild Wars 1, what is their reason for this?
Another reason for players to buy gems? If that's the case, what a shame.
In GW1, everything was instanced and people only ever met up in outposts and towns. The server design is so drastically different in GW2 that I'm baffled you're even asking why it'd be different in GW2.

Well, I have no idea, however it looks suspicions to me, seems like they just want to cash in more.
This is sheer madness. People need to cut this shit out.
"I didn't get exactly what I want, Anet must be conspiring to steal my money."
How the * are they going to "cash in more" from limiting this? People are only going to switch servers once in awhile and I seriously doubt their income is going to be affected in any noticeable way by limiting it to either Euro or NA. It's likely a technical issue, or something else we might not be aware of. Don't be so quick to pass judgement, instead you should ask why Anet is limiting it, or wait for someone with programming experience to come along and give an explanation of what may be the reasons for this.

I for one find the GW2 stance on Charr much better than in GW1.
In GW1 they were just the bad guys, while in GW2 there are differences.
Charr are a society, where different people have different opinions.
What feels better?
1) A pure good/bad portrait like we had in GW1. Charr were evil that killed the good humans.
or
2) A more variable society, where some Charr are hostile to almost everything (flame legion), some only accept the peace treaty with the humans, and where some charr just live among other races.
This feels much more realistic/mature to me..
