Guild wars 2, 8-bit music version

31 March 2013 - 07:10 AM

So randomly when logging in I noticed my menu music was being played in an 8-bit chiptune instead of the regular menu theme and I was quite surprised.

I noticed there's no thread about this yet so I decided to record a quick video and upload it.

Anyone else get this and do you guys think this is a hint that guild wars 2 is being turned 8-bit for april fools day?

Does anyone know where exactly The Shatterer is?

I was one of the lucky few who got to try out Guild wars 2 back in 2010 at PAX prime, as you might recall the best part of that event was the shatterer fight they were showing off.

Naturally I want to fight this Dragon again but I've run into a problem.... I don't know where exactly he is.... I know he's in the dragonbrand but there's several zones that it could be. Does anyone know the exact zone I can find this dragon so I can slay him!

Free Transfers after launch?

16 August 2012 - 05:35 AM

Hello, I heard from Wooden potatoes and a couple other source that there will be a free week server transfer period but I've been unable to confirm this from an official source.\

If someone could link me to some evidence of this that would be great.

Does anyone else think there some be something in the big dungeon that benefits your wo...

I've said this before but I didn't see a discussion about it.

While I'll admit even in it's current state, the jumping puzzle in the eternal battlegrounds is pretty cool, I feel like it's just missing a reason for the servers to be fighting inside and the trap feel like they're made for trolling rather than combat.

While I don't think anything major needs to be in the dungeon, I feel like something small like an orb of power waiting inside or something similar would create fun scenarios where small squads rush into the jumping puzzle and attempt to stop or slow one another while they rush towards the prize at the end.

I definitely think an orb of power or something else similar that you would have to take to either a keep or stonemist would be best because once it leaves the dungeon, then the hardcore players leave and concentrate on other things giving opportunities for casual players to experience the dungeon.

What are the best treb placements for certain keeps?

14 June 2012 - 11:35 AM

So my Guild decided to siege Dreadful bay since the forces of Janthir were busy steamrolling everywhere else and we wanted to challenge ourselves. So our Guild squad of 8, some other guild and some random islanders started sieging the keep. We broke through the first fortified gate with first a catapult then a trebuchet (heavy arrow cart usage) but then we ran into more siege weapon spam and we didn't have the numbers to push through it.

So we decided to place a trebuchet..... after some discussion we decided to place on the bridge overlooking the water which can actually see here:

Unfortunately this turned out to be a terrible idea as it turns out the cannons on the walls could be turned to blow up our treb and we couldn't get to the crafty little steamspur before he took down our treb. The siege fell apart after that.

Afterwords in a similar siege we decided to set up above the gate which also turned out to be a bad idea due to re-spawning archers. This time a zerg showed up and destroyed the gate with their shear numbers.

So I'm posting to ask where the best Trebuchet placement for assaulting this keep and possibly get some tips on other placements in other key keeps.
