Frost Spirit is no longer bugged, take that over Sic 'Em

I'm totally claiming responsibility for this fix.  =P

The tooltip has always erroneously said that it had a 10-second cooldown, it just never worked. I don't think you're going to get my traction trying to report as a bug that a skill finally works as advertised for the first time in two years.

That being said, a ranger was already a hard sell to most dungeon groups. I don't think Spotter alone is going to cut it.
Eh...worth a shot.

@ Brazil: Nice vid.  The new ranger meta looks a lot more fun than the last one.  Yea, the utility was great...but spirits can be a pain to keep track of and at least now we have a reason to use the LB in PvE dungeons.

In Topic: Thoughts on the September Feature Pack?

Well, the feature pack is a bit disappointing, for sure, but it hasn't killed off my interest from playing.  However, it is really sad to see how much of the community (at least at GW2Guru) has departed though.  I really love this forum, but so many sections seem to have really died off since so many people have stopped playing.

Hopefully we see some meaningful addition in the future, but if there's not...well, EQ Next looks promising. =P

Well, there's no patch notes to support this change...

I say everyone should open a bug report in game and submit this as a bug.  The more people who do this, the more likely it is to get a response.

In Topic: Coming back to GW2 - Class doubts

30 May 2014 - 12:26 PM

For the real detailed breakdown of dps, there are lots of threads still scattered around with the full answer, but here's the tl;dr version for the classes you mentioned:

Warrior: No are longer the DPS kings, but they are still very solid dps in just about any situation.  Basically, they're reliable high damage dealers in pugs, but hardcore speed run groups wont stack 3-4 of them like they used to.

Thief: Very high single target dps.  They clear trash well with S/P and D/D is one of the highest dps builds.  They're great to have for certain dungeons like CM where stealth speeds up a run a lot, but they're still good everywhere else too.  Still squishy as hell though.

Eles: Eles are arguably much the DPS kings in most situations now.  If you're going through a dungeon where you can stack bosses against a wall, then FGS rips them apart.  Lightning hammer is great and fire staff builds will also bring top notch damage in a lot of situations while making fire fields readily available.
