In Topic: The Druid; ranger is dead to me.

Ranger is my main in GW2 and was in GW1 as well. I'm pretty disappointed by the druid, but I won't stop playing ranger because of it. I won't equip the druid spec unless absolutely necessary for raids or other difficult content that could use a dedicated supporter. Most of the time I'll just stick with my current build.

In Topic: Heart of Thorns releases 23 October, 2015

28 August 2015 - 08:51 PM

I figured they would be releasing it fairly soon; what's surprising to me is how they announced the date. I mean, no article, no interview, no stream, just a banner on the homepage. I thought they'd be announcing the date tomorrow at their big stream. Maybe they put the banner up early by mistake?

In Topic: legendary weapons pricing

I've been going for Bolt since day one, and now have every single thing for it. Except for the precursor. What once was going to cost me 300g is now up to around 600g and still rising. I've worked hard to get everything else, but the precursor is getting ridiculous.

In Topic: Skill Division: WvW and PvE

I kind of wish they wouldn't split skills between WvW and PvE. WvW is meant to be combining the fun of PvE with some elements of PvP. Moving into skill splits make the two that much farther apart. I'm well aware of imbalances between professions in some builds, but I'd say that makes the game more interesting. We don't need to be perfectly balanced to be able to win - the professions are close enough that skill will determine the winner.

In Topic: 30 pts in beast mastery.

I ran 10 in BM since launch until a couple days ago, when I switched from 30/20/10/0/10 to 10/20/10/0/30 to try it out. My ranger a bit less damage, but my pet is now incredibly powerful and my overall damage skyrocketed. I run cats and drakes now, instead of being required to keep bears everywhere to keep them alive. I wouldn't say a full BM build is for everyone, as it requires a fair amount more attention to the pet, but it can be pretty fun.
