I prefer going curses myself as well on a conditionmancer. more condition dmg and crit chance do way more for you then straight damage when you're going to still have a low based damage. Also, I'm not a fan of spit trait skills. Curses has some good choices for well skills like being able to target them instead of placing where your standing. Not a fan of going glass cannon either, going fully into both spite and curses takes away one of necromancer's best trait, survivability.
You can actually go fully into Curses and Spite without becoming a "Glass Cannon". What you loose in survivability can be mostly gained back through armor and accessory choices and through proactive use of dodge and kiting. These is something quite satisfying about getting all of your conditions up and watching enemies bleed to death while desperately trying to catch up to you to hit you with a bloody arm
