The game is /automation  its not closing down as such  may I quote ANET ON THIS

I think what most of us are trying to say is that GW1 needs help: it would need to be worked on. So while we are still able to play it, the whole experience really won't be worthy of the Guild Wars name.
(Although given how GW2 tarnished the name of Guild Wars already, it's probably on that level now. ;))

You should be encouraged to belong to and interact with as many guilds as often as possible. Not isolated and kicked because you don't spend all your time in one guild.

I think that guilds are just one of the symptoms of this issue: it all starts with data centers and servers and guild just additionally split the already split population. Looking at GW1 and GW2, it seems like GW2 is a game built around guilds, whereas GW1 was built around the whole population: in GW1 I created parties with the help of my Friends List, whereas in GW2 I basically do not use the FL because the game, in some cases, actively prevents me from playing with those folks and in other cases, provides me much better rewards for playing with the folks in my guild.
In this regard, GW2 doesn't feel like an MMO, it feels just like any other online game.

My problem are the events. I don't play so much as to be able to complete them. Salvages can be bought, Vets were basically done with 1-2 runs of Molten Facility and Dailies require you to play ~1 hour, 4 days out of 30, but events require more time, unless there are some easily farm-able ones I don't know about. That's why I chose to do JPs instead of events.

The starter area of the Norn starter area: broodmother, Kani, Ulfred, minotaurs, bear shrine, ... a massive number of events and they are all on an almost non-existent cooldown.
Otherwise, do dragons: check the timer to find an active server and then, while you wait, run around and do events in the vicinity: I think that just doing the Fire ele each day should give you the needed events.

Although, to be honest, I'd basically do anything just so that I don't need to do JPs. Hell, last month I did Fraks just so that I wouldn't need to do them.

While I absolutely don't think JPs are a part of the easy 4 for the monthly (events, salvage, daily and vets), I suggest doing Pig Iron Quarry in Fireheart Rise:

The only problem is the boss at the end because of his knockbacks, but you don't need to kill him to get the +1 for the JP. Just dance around the platform a bit until you see the +1 pop-up.

And of course, Shaman's Rookery:

Hold down CRTL to see the raven circles and then just run past all the shamans.

Btw, there's not much talk about it but I am really glad the OP mentioned consumables: I still remember with dread the time Colin gave the advice that people should simply nibble on some consumables if they have trouble completing content.
