#2351338 I’ve been playing GW2 wrong, and loving it.

And whose fault is that? I seem to recall a very huge percentage of the community (most notably those with the "efficiency" and "speed clear" mentality) screaming their heads off and demanding nerfs in the first weeks or months of the game because they couldn't make it past AC Story.

"This game is too HARD! Nerf it!"

*reluctant nerf followed by mass Foo Strategy adoption*

"This game is too easy! Arena Net sucks!"

You don't want to muck around with stats, fine. In that case maybe we should be advocating Arena Net undo those first nerfs and see how fast the zerker meta implodes. And you know what? My guild could finish those dungeons. My guild actually figured the game out. You know how to play the zerker meta; I know how to play Guild Wars 2, and if Arena Net would take off the training wheels they slapped on for all you crybabies we might see some changes to the meta.

Actually, it was my guild who figured the game out.  Never heard of you.

You can already buy/sell the items on the TP. If its "expensive" that's called skins actually having some prestige.

Those being dungeon skins, temple skins bought with karma, and the crafted ascended skins.

View PostAndemius, on 12 April 2014 - 08:05 PM, said:

Those are perhaps the easiest skins to get. Dungeons are simple even without an optimal team, karma is moreorless useless so you don't need to work for that armor, and ascended can almost be bought straight off the TP - if you have enough asc mats - dragonite ore being the only one I've ever had trouble with.

It's almost as if ArenaNet were trying to place a higher value on things you can get through the RMT rather than things available exclusively through game-play.

#2311723 Wardrobe, Charges should only unlock.

I hate when people use the term "gamer entitlement", but this thread is just a shining example of it.

Why should they give you everything for free just because of you wanting to change your appearance every day? Is ANet really expected to cater to people with an asperger-like compulsion to change their equipment's look?

You're playing a game that has no subscription fees and cost the same as any other game would have at release. Most people, even at bare minimum, have hundreds of hours poured into this game (I'm at about 1.4k hours myself), and you're really going to sit here and complain about this change? You want everything to just be free for you?

I really just cannot fathom any rational thought going into this kind of request. If the game had a sub fee, then absolutely it should be totally free to change the appearance at will, but it's completely unreasonable to expect them to have that in a game with no sub.

This change is fantastic, because not only does it provide a much much much needed service to players, but for those people that are too lazy to farm the gold to convert it to gems, or don't want to buy gems at all, they still have the option to go aquire said equipment in game normally.

You have more time than me.Still getting them is through slow and easy grinding.
Hardcore is not about time but precision. If you do easy staff and just look at the timer you're a casual.
But why do people believe in that the time makes the hardcore is for a different time and place.

Yeah all I do is easy stuff.  I am king champ farmer.

The first thing to do is to either reset the BIOS/CMOS by using the onboard jumper (if it has one - check the motherboard manual) or to enter the BIOS/setup during bootup (again, check the manual) and "Load Defaults".
Power fluctuations and spikes will sometimes mess with the BIOS settings and something in your system could be running out of spec - wrong frequency, wrong voltage, etc. Clearing/resetting the BIOS/CMOS will cause the system to redetect devices and set the proper default conditions.

u cant see how op the stance is atm, IF  the warrior woundnt spam stuns AND  necros had better mobility, probly i wouldnt mind, the problem is the warrior glues to the necro and  we cant run because or we are stuned or the warrior ignores the fear and criple and chill, its huge no? the warrior has enough damage to kill the necro, when a single skill shuts the entire build for 8 seconds ,WHILE  u have all the skills to use, something is wrong. There must be balance in the game, and atm that stance is op.like u see its a bug and anet is trying to fix it.
you heard it here first folks, a stance that reduces conditions by 100% for 8 seconds every 60 is op. signet of stamina must be crazy broken! that badboy removes ALL your conditions on a 45 second cd! and lets you dodge more!

#2228435 Mr Sparkles mini at PAX?

Posted Mordakai on 23 August 2013 - 09:12 PM

Rumor on official forum, not confirmed by dev.

If true, this combined with crappy B-day present will piss me off.  I hated the ultra-rare minis given at cons and as awards in GW1.

If Arenanet is going to give away free minis, give everyone a chance to get one.

#2230423 setting events up to fail

Posted pkddixie99 on 01 September 2013 - 06:48 AM

It would be nice if the devs made a living world event that would be less farmy and more geared toward actually winning. The Clockwork Choas is nothing but a waste of time and a clusterf**k. And who's fault is it.......not the players....its the development team for making champions that drop loot spawn like crazy from aetherblade pirates. Why not make them like champs in Jormag where you can kill as many as you want but you will gain nothing unless you win the event! or better yet make the twisted champs spawn more  than the aetherblades =P.  Well reguardless i just hope that ArenaNet can see what a disaster this was and learn from it for future living world events =D so now that my rant is over /activate trolls

#2219079 Sanctum Sprint and why the GW2 community is truly awesome

Posted Nuclear_Herring on 12 July 2013 - 11:05 PM

Something happened to me last night that I thought was sufficiently great to tell everyone about here on GW2Guru.

I was playing Sanctum Sprint, and due to a combination of truly awful lag (I'm in New Zealand, and my ping is horrendous) and my own inherent lack of skill I was solidly bringing up the rear of the group. My personal best was 7th and I'm not entirely sure how I even did that well.

Then the awesome thing happened. The group I was playing with had been reasonably consistent and so a couple of other sprinters started asking who hadn't got the achievement yet. As a result of this, those who had the achievement would wait at the finish line and /dance or /sit until a first-time winner came on through.

Eventually, I think I was the last person in the group without the achievement and the whole group followed along behind me. While I must admit I felt like the special kid who needs a crash helmet to play in the sandpit it was really cool for everyone to put their own needs aside so that someone else could get something out of the race.

I eventually finished in first place and got the achievement and title (which I'll be too embarrassed to ever wear) and to make the evening even better I got a windcatcher skin from the end chest.

To those who were there: You guys rock and I hope precursors drop for you in the near future.

tl;dr An entire group of players followed me through Sanctum Sprint to allow me to get the achievement despite me being rubbish. It made me feel all warm and fluffy inside.
