1. Why would they become the norm for dungeon runs? From my experience people tend to go the easiest route unless the harder one has the best rewards, and even then, it depends how hard.

1. Currently, dungeons are so easy that you can do them in greens. Increasing dungeon difficulty with gambits will just make gear more relevant. It will be exactly like hard mode in GW1: you gear up and get used to it and then there is no reason to go back to normal mode. If I can routinely do gambits for extra reward with my ascended gear, why would I ever choose not to?

2. The point of gambits is that it increases difficulty. Sure, it might turn out to be a big joke, but if it is actually more difficult, then BiS gear will matter. As people get ascended gear, there is an incentive to stop playing with lesser geared players.

That shows achievements, but it mentions at least one dungeon gambit (50 percent health gambit).

Increased dungeon difficulty is in the works in the form of optional gambits. This will quickly become the normal way that dungeons are run except by newbie groups. You will be kicked from a dungeon group doing gambits if you are not in BiS gear with an optimal build.

I didn't say there was no difference. I am merely pointing out that the difference is small compared to the difference between the two and Berserkers. I don't see the point in wasting gold or tokens on Knights. Either get Soldiers for free (karma) or use gold/tokens for Berserkers.

There is very little difference in the raw damage output of Knights vs Soldier gear; Knights is only slightly better. They are both much worse than Berserkers. The main reason to use Knights over Soldier gear is if your build gains a lot of benefit from on crit effects; otherwise you won't notice much difference between Knights and Soldier gear.
