[Build] Bionic Boom - Non-Healing Shout Greatsword

25 February 2013 - 08:20 PM

So you've put together all the gear for the Sonic Boon build and now you find that the shout heals are not really helping as much as you thought they would. Would you rather do 40% more damage instead? All you need to do is reset your traits and change one utility skill:

http://gw2buildcraft....0.a6.a5|55.7|e

Heal: Healing Surge
Utilities: Shake It Off, For Great Justice, Banner of Discipline
Elite: Signet of Rage

It only costs 3.5 silver to reset your traits, and it costs nothing to change your utility skill, so you might as well give it a try.

Why Do Devs Always Think They Need To Tie Everything Together?

17 August 2012 - 03:17 PM

In GW1, the devs thought all the PvP players would have fun playing PvE to unlock skills and equipment for PvP. Eventually, they relented and let PvP players that never wanted to play PvE just play PvP and still be able to get everything they needed.

In GW2, the devs think that everyone is going to like playing together on a single PvE server so that the players will build camaraderie for when they all decide to do WvWvW together. This is another case of forcing people to do something they don't want to do just to meet some dev's vision of the ideal way to play the game. The result is that guilds are limited. Players can't choose to temporarily switch servers if the PvE location they want to play doesn't have the number of players they find attractive (either too many or too few). The devs should focus on making things so that players can play how they want to play, not imprison them in some preconceived notions of how to play.

PvE players should be able to play on any server at any time without any hassle. Guilds should exist outside of servers and should receive influence from and provide benefits to all of its members without regard to which PvE server they are currently playing on. Servers should be represented as they are in the districting model in Guild Wars outposts; they should have nothing to do with "worlds" or WvWvW.

WvWvW should be a separate experience from PvE. The first time a player joins WvWvW they should be required to choose a world to represent and this would have all of the current server locking and gem switching costs, although it would be "world" locking instead of server locking.

Survivor Achievements

When pursuing the survivor achievements, which method will be the:
  • Quickest
  • Least Risky
  • Most Fun
(Probably a different answer for each one.)

Are All The Servers At West Coast USA?

13 August 2012 - 07:01 PM

I was on Gunnar's Hold (EU) server during BWE3. There is an option in the settings to display the current server time. When I chose that option, the displayed time was PDT time zone. Are all of the servers currently located on the West Coast of the USA? Are the EU servers going to be moved at some point in time?
