Good Zone for Event Farming Besides Orr?

29 September 2012 - 04:32 PM

I'm getting pretty tired of all these undead and bleak landscapes in Orr. Anyone know of another zone that has some good event chains that go on frequently?

Would love to see ET vs SBI vs JQ

It's a shame that this might never happen though since it's always going to be two of these servers against HoD in the top tier, and one of these servers dominating the runner-up tier.

Boon of Might / Boon of Regeneration

06 September 2012 - 02:17 PM

I found these items at a merchant at Almuten Mansion in Gendarran Fields

http://www.guildhead...of regeneration
http://www.guildhead...h/boon of might

They were the Tier 3 version. They said they last 30 minutes but the buff actually lasts 1 hour, and is equivalent to the "Regeneration boost" and "Damage boost" you can find from BL chests. You can buy them with karma or silver.

Does anyone know the locations of the higher tiers of these items?

Scaling Issue - Level 20 > Level 80

12 August 2012 - 09:21 PM

I'm a bit concerned about the magnitude of stats scaling to above what is obtainable by a level 80 character. The way scaling is happening now, my level 20 Warrior with Masterwork gear would have much better stats than a level 80 Warrior with Exotic gear.

Take a look for yourself

Power 2,334
Precision 2,640
Toughness 1,207
Vitality 1,167

Attack 3,292
Critical 86%
Armor   2,302
Health 20,882

Using http://www.gw2skills.net/editor/en/ I've tried many combinations of gear and traits (including manually adding 200 precision from "Deep Strikes" trait) and can get nowhere close to those stat numbers.

Unless you can get much higher stats on level 80 exotic PvE gear than you can obtain with PvP runes and amulet then it holds true that a level 20 would have better stats than a level 80.

Everyone and Their Mom Uses a Greatsword

03 August 2012 - 02:19 AM

Note: This is in the PvE Warrior forum. This discussion as about PvE, not sPvP

And with even more incentive now when they make changes like this:

Momentous GreatswordGain Might on a critical hit with a greatsword.Gain Might on a critical hit with a greatsword or spear. Greatsword and spear skill recharge 20% faster.

Greatsword precision builds are by far the most popular builds for PvE. Are we going to see 90% of the warriors in this game running around with a big sword on their back? Or is the Greatsword just a passing fad for low level beta content which is easier relative to high level stuff (supposedly)?

What do you guys think it is about Greatsword that makes it so popular?
