I then log back on, go to Queensdale and kill centaurs to pay for the repair cost i failed to avoid ... because my reflex time of getting up and running up the stairs from my mum's basement, to the modem in daddies study, was too slow.
Eventually i sum up enough courage after owning Centaurs and requeue for WvWvW with full moral.
I'm the luckiest guy in the world ... i have SOOOOooooo many 4 leaf clovers. Suck it !!!

Don't be such a nancy about it. You got two copies, take advantage of that. A-net enjoy screweing people over it seems, so vise-versa is fine.

I'd also love to see a "hero servival" type game mode as well.
You know the kind where a small group of players defends a position against waves of enemies, with occasional boss waves, for as many waves as they can. The goal isn't necessarily to win, it's to see how long you can go on for.

I actually gotten the mats & everything ready since 23/9 on Sunday Night but was denied/delayed due to bugged event @ Strait of Devastation for the Temple of Balthazar Karma vendor to exchange for last remaining Obsidian shards I need. And later on the silly patch that make new Obisidian shards doesnt stack with the old one, Which is offically the World First. Proof: http://www.guildwars...40#entry1960755
In before - No lifer, Big Fat Nerd, Yes, I'm a nolifer + bigfatnerd, but thats what I call Determination & Commitment.
Hi, I'm Xalkyrie [SYNAPSE] from Henge of Denvari, unless someone with concrete evidence that they have obtain any legendary weapon eariler than 23/9, I shall hereby proclaim that my Bifrost is the -REAL-In-before-bugged-token- World First.
Here are the background knowledge and details /"dairy" on my journey of obtaining [The Bifrost]: (long post ahead)
I'd had been so much looking forward to this game since its beta period, especially after since BWE3, I quitted D3 shortly (I shall not explain why) and focusing/studying/reading up on GW2.
I played during beta and therefore I do have early knowlegde of the game over most people. I knew that legendary would be hard to obtain and require lots of time and commitment, thus it would be one of my foremost goal in game.
During Beta, making of a legendary is slightly easier before Arenanet decided to change them before game went live and making it harder(via more mats req). But it has not deter us from finding out the new recipe, credit to those who spent time&effort to find them out.(guru forumers) ^^
Before deciding on which weapon should I make, its gonna depend on what class/profession I play, and since I've been playing an Elementalist and loved it during BWE2&3 and due to higher skill cap req, I've decided to make Elementalist during live too. And since I feel that staff is the most overall weapon choice for PvE/WvW, I chose to make it as my target as Legendary.
Aug 25th: Headstart for those Preorder peeps, of coz I'm one of them! IIRC, I'd reach level80 with few friends one day before the game offically released, thats about 50-55hrs gameplay. Definitely not the fastest but yeah..
Since I'm making Staff, I know that my crafting would need to be Cooking/Artificers and therefore shortly after level 80 I max those 2 crafts. I got myself a fullset of yellow MF gear crafted by my friend and made an exotic MF staff for myself too since I knows that these will help in a long run of grinding/farming!
Okay heres the breakdown of mats and how I got them:
*DISCLAIMER**, I did not buy any Gem and convert them to gold at any time, neither do I buy any gold from anybody/goldseller. Only Me & Myself got access to MY account. (maybe GM of Anet too) If you see me move, it means I am controlling it. In another words, I don't bot neither do I get other to play for me.*
$GOLDs$ - As I mentioned, I do know about putting 4x kv70+ rares/exotics in mystic forget for a chance of exotics/legendary base. Note that I didn't try any of 4x rares as I don't like gambling.. I play the mystic forge !! rawr~ I only put in 4x 70+ EXOTICS for a confirmed lv80 exotics, price of a 70+ exotics during the 1st-2nd week of the game was like 20s-40s buy order(note* I only do Staff), lv80 price @ around 4g and some special skin could fetch higher price, its profit no matter whether legendary base came out for me or not. I didn't count but I believe I've at least made 50+ exotics out of it until like 3rd week or so when each lv70+ cost 50s or more I stopped.
(I am fully aware of my shitluck and therefore I did not get my legendary base myself, infact I got mine from Trading Post like on the 1st week for 26g2s buy order when most people did not have that kind of money)
please note that the screenshot was taken on 25/9, so you minus 14days ago.
I don't really consider myself as TP master but I do "do good" in playing TP, one of the most profit items was Platinum Doubloon, which was 1.7s+ when the TP was working, i bought about 60+ and put in bank and TOTALLY forgot about it until few days ago before I gather up all my mats... ^^.
Secondly was that Gift of Energy that was req for Gift of Bifrost previously, on beta it req 250 gossamer scrap and that I also bought quite a few when it was around 2.8sBO, soon after someone bought the recipe, it was discovered to have changed to crystalline dust series.. and thus it all became profits ^_^v. I also did some flipping of minor stuff here and there.
Of course, those money that I made aren't really enough for all the mats req, I could afford my own 100x Icy runestone, my base weapon, 2x 10g gift recipe about 80% of t6 bluemats and about 400 ectos(about 200+ is farmed from karma, others is bought with gold from TP), but the remaining was borrow/pool by group of friends of mine in game and some guildies.
%KARMAs% - Well, I farmed my karma mostly from Cursed Shore Dynamic Events like a boss with a group!! Members of HoD most probably seen me before at CS during oceanic time at those events ^^. I got a lot of Karma from WvW too while farming badges, especially those match-up where we vs-ing good tier server, they provide lots of back and forth action and thus alot of karma and invaders to kill for badges! PvP defence of Keep/castle is awesome
I gained about on average 7-8k per hr w/o booster and 50% more with boosters, I did not use boosters until the last 3days of sick farming which at that point I had my clovers ready and going for my last 525k Karma.
I would probably write up a guide sometime on Karma Farming after awhile.
(*NOTE* farming in CS is a !@#$ing tedious and boring, I literally windowed mode my GW2 and watch Detective Conan anime on my other half of screen.. watched over 170+ episodes while doing it.. tell me about it,in order to maximise my karma gain per hr, I did not just semi afk @ either 3 of the WP, I opened my map and did WP-ing to nearest WP and do all events + those that need to be activated, I did them too. I also wrote this stuff at the very last 2days of Karma farming! YES I wrote all this before I actually got it! zomg hax)
Gift of Mastery:
Bloodstone Shard - I guess thats never a issues with the requirement of 100% map completion.
250 Obsidian Shards - This is my last of last items required for this whole process. Check out above on how I farmed my karma. Beware of bugged event..... ...... .... ..
Gifts of Exploration - Did them shortly after reaching the level cap, got mine like 2days after Guildy Slin aka misterslin got his world 1st. Not hard and its fun!
Gift of Battle - 500 WvW badges. Did I mention I was from [Synapse] ? lol Our guild rockz and especially most of the match-up we vs-ing are good tier server, they provide lots of back and forth action and thus alot badges! And I also did my daily JumpPuzzle of Borderlands almost everyday if possible on last few hours of matchup where opposite server has mostly given up.
Gift of Fortune:
Gift of Magic- Just cost some golds (Check above on Gold) and some pooling of mats from my guildies/friends for the last bit. (about 5-10% only)
Gift of Might- Same as Gift of Magic
250 Globs of Ectoplasm - Got some from the last bit of my gold and remaining from friends/guildies. Used most that I've farmed against the ultimate Mystic Clovers Boss.
77 Mystic Clovers - Ultimate boss of this whole process, I did about 23x the 10recipe, I lucked out my last 3tries as my ecto was used up, my result can be viewed at one of the post here http://www.guildwars...utcome-changed/
Gift of Bifrost:
Gift of Enegry - Changed from previously cloths to now dust, easier & cheaper <3,
Gift of Color - I knew this recipe req Unidentified Dyes so I kept all my Unid dyes from start. I also reminds my friends to keep them for me althought some doesn't even give a shit but I still love them <3
100 Icy runestone: Check above how I got my gold above
Sigil of nullification: just buy from TP.
The Legend of Rage: Got it from TP via buy order of 26g2s during 1st week of working TP period where not much people have that kind of amount of gold which I did.
My farmer Union group ! thanks for making sure I'm not dead in reallife while farming CS.
Members: in no particular order,
Titania Scarletta - Lots of Unid dyes from start to end, lots of Mats, help & advices in between the process.
Tyens - Farm alongside with me, almost same progression as me until he took an arrow on the knee by the Clovers boss.
Ahaa - My ultimate scout for events especially for Historian Fia, helps alot in mats too
Kamisamah - Willing to trade mats and help on each other journey to legendary
Outbreakz - Willing to trade mats and help on each other journey to legendary
Nenari Wildheart - Theorycrafting and farm CS like zombies. loan me ectos.
Chusan R Kaena - Moans in Teamspeak for motivation
Reiji Zwei - for been such a cute boy, bring laughter
Guildies to help me on my last part of materials and fellow guildies be it farming with me, or borrowing me mats even if its just one Ecto or one Powerful Venom Sac, any amount is greatly appreciated ! <3 you all know who you all are, I shall not name thus, rest assure that I didn't forget any of you that helped me in the process, /love you all
AND OF COURSE SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE WHO DOESN'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT IT WHEN I APPOACH OR ASKING FOR HELP, ITS YOU ALL THAT GAVE ME THE MOST MOTIVATION.
TL;DR Version: ^ TOPIC, and I'm an Asian, what do you expect? L0L !

I find leveling in this game more challenging than the other two MMO's I have played. I have to move around and dodge to avoid death, and the high mob density + respawn rate makes me hesitant to even venture into certain areas alone. I have to pay attention when I play, and if I play poorly or rush into dangerous ares, I usually die.
Groups are all well and good, but I already "do stuff" with other players without being in a group or any formal communication. For example, I'll clear a cave and then do a skill challenge with another player or two. But upping the difficulty so that even more cooperation/formal grouping is required to level? I give this idea a thumbs down. If I had to group if I so much as want to tie my shoes, I wouldn't play the game.
I do respect your opinion on the matter, as I know that some people simply are very skilled players or love lots of challenging game play and grouping. But I must humbly disagree, for I am not one of them.

I'd just like to take a moment here to say something for the silent majority.
We love this game.
We're having lots of fun.
Yeah, there are some bugs that suck, but for the most part, it's a great way to spend a few hours.
Sorry if you thought we didn't like it, but we do. Sorry if you thought ANet is losing customers left and right, but they aren't. They have us. So whine. Complain and threaten and troll and do whatever you wish. Just know that you are a minority, a hedge case, and just because you don't love this game, doesn't mean we don't.
I'm not saying this game is perfect. I'm saying that I agree with the design decisions and the direction. If you don't, please play something else, because you're going to ruin it for us.
**edit for clarity**

The game was officially released on August 28th. That's 542 hours 23 mins before the time of your post. You have played 300+ hours. That means you have spent more than 55% of the total available time in your life playing this game since launch. Hoping you had at least 6 hours of daily sleep, you ended up playing nearly 75% of the every waking hour of your life in last 3 weeks or so.
I think the game got bored of you and decided not to offer you any more fun till you take some rest and help yourself in the process.
I say that jokingly. But, in all honesty, the impact of sitting on your butt 75% of the day will take heavy toll on your body. It does not matter how old you are. You will have serious issues with your health if you don't take a break now.

List of things to do here:
- Add GW2DB Links so you can see a mouse-over when they become available
- Update Text, Research correct names of some items.
- Write more details on Dungeon Gifts
- We need more data on the level range the weapons used to create the base need to have. For now we assume it's all items above 76+
- We need more Data on the drop locations of Cores and Lodestones
- We need to find out which 2nd Gift is used for the Torch. The Wiki is unclear on this.
- Help us find the correct names for some of the Exotics & Legendary. I already found 3 wrong names in the list that have changed towards the launch.
- WE CAN'T SAY FOR SURE HOW THE TORCH IS NAMED UNTIL SOMEBODY MAKES IT. THE BASE WEAPON SAYS RODGORT, THE RECIPE SAY'S DRAGON MAW.

GUIDE BEGINS HERE!
If you need more Information on how to actually FARM the stuff for your Legendary (Gold, Karma, Mats) please check out this Guide: http://www.guildwars...egendary-guide/
Making Legendaries are a long process, which will devour roughly over 100g and 2 Million Karma. Not to mention your time. Some parts are made from crafting, others are obtained as loot, some are random, but pretty much all of them need to be thrown into the Mystic Forge. This thread is meant to walk you through the process step-by-step. So let's start...
Obtaining the Exotics
Each of the Legendaries has it's own exotic base weapon. These are always " ____ of Rage" items, because it's the default Superior Sigil. They can be obtained by throwing 4 rare/exotic weapons above level 76 (research ongoing) of the type you want to obtain into the Mystic Forge (4x Greatsword for Dusk or Dawn) and getting lucky. Or you might be able to obtain them as loot from events or enemies while being out in the world. Either way, you need to obtain the following specific items to craft your Legendary.
This is unconfirmed, but according to someone over at MMO-Champion you can use Mystic Forge Stones to substitute a exotic weapon.
- Staff - The Legend of Rage - Used for: The Bifrost
- Sword - Zap of Rage - Used for: Bolt
- Torch - Rodgort's Claw of Rage - Used for: Dragons Maw/Rodgort
- Shortbow - The Lover of Rage - Used for: The Dreamer
- Shield - The Chosen of Rage - Used for: The Flameseeker Prophecies
- Speargun - Rage of Rage - Used for: Frenzy
- Axe - Tooth of Frostfang of Rage - Used for: Frostfang
- Warhorn - Howl of Rage - Used for: Howler
- Dagger - Spark of Rage - Used for: Incinerator
- Hammer - The Colossus of Rage - Used for: The Juggernaut
- Longbow - Leaf of Kudzu of Rage - Used for: Kudzu
- Trident - Venom of Rage - Used for: Kraitkin
- Spear - Maw of Rage - Used for: Maw of the Deep
- Scepter - Storm of Rage - Used for: Meteorlogicus
- Focus - The Bard of Rage - Used for: The Minstrel
- Mace - The Energizer of Rage - Used for: Moot
- Rifle - The Hunter of Rage - Used for: The Predator
- Pistol - Chaos Gun of Rage - Used for: Quip
- Greatsword - Dawn of Rage - Used for: Sunrise
- Greatsword - Dusk of Rage - Used for: Twilight
Depending on what Legendary you are crafting, you will have to create specific Gifts. These are related to different Crafting Skills. Gifts are Account-Bound, so buying them on the Trading Post is impossible. The Recipes for these gifts are sold by Miyani in Lion's Arch. You can find her next to the Mystic Forge. The list here will link to the Wiki, where you can see what you need. AT THIS TIME NOT ALL WIKI ENTIRES MAY BE CORRECT, SO PLEASE TAKE CARE! The Gifts are used as part of the final 3 components you will make with the Mystic Forge later on.
Legendaries and which Gifts they need:
Just click on the items, it will take you to GW2DB and show you which profession makes which Gift.
- Staff - The Bifrost = Gift of Color & Gift of Energy
- Sword - Bolt = Gift of Metal & Gift of Lightning
- Torch - Dragons Maw/Rodgort = Gift of Wood & ?
- Shortbow - The Dreamer = Gift of Wood & Unicorn Statue
- Shield - The Flameseeker Prophecies = Gift of Metal & Gift of History
- Speargun - Frenzy = Gift of Wood & Gift of Water
- Axe - Frostfang = Gift of Metal & Gift of Ice
- Warhorn - Howler = Gift of Wood & Wolf Statue
- Dagger - Incinerator = Gift of Metal & Vial of Liquid Flame
- Hammer - The Juggernaut = Gift of Metal & Vial of Qucksilver
- Longbow - Kudzu = Gift of Wood & Gift of Nature

- Scepter - Meteorlogicus = Gift of Energy & Gift of Weather
- Focus - The Minstrel = Gift of Energy & Gift of Music

- Rifle - The Predator = Gift of Wood & Gift of Stealth
- Pistol - Quip = Gift of Wood & Gift of Entertainment
- Greatsword - Sunrise = Gift of Metal & Gift of Light
- Greatsword - Twilight = Gift of Metal & Gift of Darkness
Lodestones used for crafting weapon-specific Gifts drop from high level Elementals and the following Dungeons (research ongoing):
Twilight Arbor - Onyx Lodestone
Citadel of Flame - Molten Lodestone
Honor of the Waves - Glacial Lodestone
Crucible of Eternity - Charged Lodestone
Arah - Corrupted Lodestone
Sorrow's Embrace - Destroyer Lodestone
You can also make them in the Mystic Forge if you have Cores (1 Tier below Lodestones):
2x Core + 1x Crystal + 1x Bottle of Elonian wine + 1x Pile of Crystalline Dust
You can obtain Bottle of Elonian Wine from Miyani by the Mystic Forge for 25 silver. She also sells Crystals for 3 Skill points.
How to make/obtain Dungeon Gifts:
Each of the weapon specific gifts needs a specific Dungeon item. Since I don't have the time right now to update this section, just let me tell you the quick version.
You can buy a Dungeon Gift from the Vendors in LA that also sell the armor. Each costs 500 Tokens from their respective Dungeons. Check the Recipe you have bought for what you need.
Ascalonian Catacombs - Gift of Ascalon: Twilight, Sunrise, Bolt, The Chosen
Arah - Gift of Zhaitan: Bitfrost, Maw of the Deep
Twilight Arbor - Gift of Thorns: The Dreamer, Howler, Kudzu
Honor the Waves - Gift of the Sanctuary: Frenzy, Frostfang
Citadel of Flame - Gift of Baelfire: Incinerator
Sorrow's Embrace - Gift of Forgeman: The Juggernaut, Kraitkin
Caudecus's Manor - Gift of Nobleman: The Minstrel, Quip, The Moot
Crucible of Eternity - Gift of Knowledge: Predator, Meteorlogicus
Gift of Darkness & Gift of Light both need Gift of Ascalon to be crafted.
Mystic Forge Gifts & Components
To obtain your Legendary, you will need to use the Mystic Forge to combine a great many things. While none of the components are actually "easy" to obtain, I will still try to list them in the order in which you can most likely obtain them.
Gift of Mastery
The first component for a Legendary is obtained by adding the following materials into the Mystic Forge:
Bloodstone Shard + 250x Obsidian Shard + Gift of Exploration + Gift of Battle
Let's start with the Bloodstone Shard[s, since it's easy. You can obtain this from Miyani right next to the Forge for 200 Skill points.
Obsidian Shard are obtained from Tactician Deathstrider at the Temple of Balthazar in Straits of Devastation
for 2100 Karma each. So you better bring those 525000 Karma with you.
2 Gifts of Exploration is obtained by reaching 100% World Completion. So get exploring!
Gift of Battle is obtained from any Weaponsmith in the WvW area. It will cost you 500 Badges of honor - so better start the queue, if your realm is full.
Congratulation, you are now one step closer to your Legendary.
Gift of Fortune
The second component for a Legendary is obtained by adding the following materials into the Mystic Forge:
77x Mystic Clover + 250x Globs of Ectoplasm + Gift of Magic + Gift of Might
Mystic Clover are made in the Mystic Forge. They are a rare component obtained when using the T6 Crafting Recipe (yields 20-50 T6 Mats or 10 Clovers). KEEP THOSE T6 MATS!
The recipe is:
10 Obsidian Shards + 10 Mystic Coins + 10 Ectos + 10 Crystals
You already know where to get Obsidian Shards from the 1st Component.
5 Crystals can be bought from Miyani for 3 Skill points.
Mystic Coins are rewarded for Daily/Monthly Achievements, you should know this by now.
Globs of Ectoplasm are crafting Materials, gained from salvaging 70+ rare/exotic items with at least a Master's Salvage Kit, probably better to get some Mystic Salvage Kits for this
1x Glob of Ectoplasm + 6x Philosopher's stone + 1x Obsidian Shard + 1x Mystic Coin = 1-3 T6 or a Mystic Clover
Now, all those attempts to get the Mystic Clover you need should've left you win hundred of T6 Crafting Mats. Which is good. Since you will need them now.
Gift of Magic is made from the Mystic Forge by throwing the following into it:
250x Vicious Fangs + 250x Armored Scale + 250x Vicious Claw+ 250x Ancient Bone
Gift of Might is made from the Mystic Forge by throwing the following into it:
250x Vial of Powerful Blood + 250x Powerful Venom Sac + 250x Elaborate Totem + 250x Pile of Crystalline Dust
Congratulations. You have now obtained your 2nd Component. And if you aren't broke yet, you will be soon.
Gift of <Insert Legendary Name>
You need specific Superior Sigil depending on what you want to craft, but they are most likely themed. Also the Mystic Forge won't accept any other Sigils than the one that works with the specific components you threw into it (as far as we know).
This Component needs:
Crafting Gift A + Crafting Gift B + 100x Icy Runestones + Superior Sigil of X.
Icy Runestones cost 1 gold each and can be bought after defeating the Claw of Jormag in Frostgorge Sound.
Now just throw all that stuff into the Mystic Forge after you have spend 100G on it and you can make a Gift of <Insert Legendary Name>.
Gift of Light + Gift of Metal + 100x Icy Runestones + Superior Sigil of Strength = Gift of Sunrise.
Legendaries and which Superior Sigils they need:
- Staff - The Bifrost = Superior Sigil of Nullification
- Sword - Bolt = Superior Sigil of Air
- Torch - Dragons Maw/Rodgort = Superior Sigil of Fire
- Shortbow - The Dreamer = Superior Sigil of Purity
- Shield - The Flameseeker Prophecies = Superior Sigil of Battle
- Speargun - Frenzy = Superior Sigil of Rage
- Axe - Frostfang = Superior Sigil of Ice
- Warhorn - Howler = Superior Sigil of Accuracy
- Dagger - Incinerator = Superior Sigil of Fire
- Hammer - The Juggernaut = Superior Sigil of Sanctuary
- Longbow - Kudzu = Superior Sigil of Conjuration
- Trident - Kraitkin = Superior Sigil of Venom
- Spear - Maw of the Deep = Superior Sigil of Agony
- Scepter - Meteorlogicus = Superior Sigil of Air
- Focus - Minstrel = Superior Sigil of Energy
- Mace - Moot = Superior Sigil of Energy
- Rifle - The Predator = Superior Sigil of Force
- Pistol - Quip = Superior Sigil of Stamnia
- Greatsword - Sunrise = Superior Sigil of Strength
- Greatsword - Twilight = Superior Sigil of Blood
Now just take your exotic base weapon and your components and throw them into the Forge.
Dawn + Gift of Sunrise + Component 2 + Component 3 = Sunrise
Congratulations! - you have now obtained your Legendary. And probably in more than a week! If you manage to make one in a week or less, Munkee will be forced by us all to give you a special price.
Don't forget to post your Legendary so we can drool at it.
