Don't join their guild and tell them to piss off. maybe they'll change their policy when they realize they are losing members over it.

#2033041 what do you do when you are about to die in wvwvw ?

Posted Marstar on 21 October 2012 - 02:32 PM

Every time I'm downed and about to die i disconnect my modem, run outside to the garden and look for a 4 leaf clover, bring it inside and tape it to my rabbit's foot. I then make 500 origami cranes, call my yiayia and ask her to make me some spanakopita and brush my teeth.

I then log back on, go to Queensdale and kill centaurs to pay for the repair cost i failed to avoid ... because my reflex time of getting up and running up the stairs from my mum's basement, to the modem in daddies study, was too slow.

Eventually i sum up enough courage after owning Centaurs and requeue for WvWvW with full moral.

I'm the luckiest guy in the world ... i have SOOOOooooo many 4 leaf clovers. Suck it !!!

Actually no, it's not. THEY sent out two copies, you didn't physically break into their office and take one.
Don't be such a nancy about it. You got two copies, take advantage of that. A-net enjoy screweing people over it seems, so vise-versa is fine.
What a fine outstanding example of the kind of person not to be!

#2040908 Anet releasing MOBA type gameplay within GW2?

Posted Arewn on 24 October 2012 - 10:13 PM

Excellent,
I'd also love to see a "hero servival" type game mode as well.
You know the kind where a small group of players defends a position against waves of enemies, with occasional boss waves, for as many waves as they can. The goal isn't necessarily to win, it's to see how long you can go on for.

Give my guardian a cape. More of a psychological weapon but still..

Crossbow, I like that, maybe Rangers could use that as well.

Anything that works on a Charr's heavy armor?

Charrcoal.

#1982633 Don't you think the game difficulty is way too easy?

Posted Trilola on 01 October 2012 - 12:43 AM

In a word: no.

I find leveling in this game more challenging than the other two MMO's I have played. I have to move around and dodge to avoid death, and the high mob density + respawn rate makes me hesitant to even venture into certain areas alone. I have to pay attention when I play, and if I play poorly or rush into dangerous ares, I usually die.

Groups are all well and good, but I already "do stuff" with other players without being in a group or any formal communication. For example, I'll clear a cave and then do a skill challenge with another player or two. But upping the difficulty so that even more cooperation/formal grouping is required to level? I give this idea a thumbs down. If I had to group if I so much as want to tie my shoes, I wouldn't play the game.

I do respect your opinion on the matter, as I know that some people simply are very skilled players or love lots of challenging game play and grouping. But I must humbly disagree, for I am not one of them.

#1928177 Does anyone else feel like the games not quite done yet.lo

MMOs are never done

#1951855 I'm sorry if you got the wrong impression, but we love this game.

Posted Proseidon1 on 20 September 2012 - 02:19 PM

I hear a lot of whining on the forums. Okay, fair enough, I expect that. However, these people that have problems with the game towards the point that they regret their purchase are beginning to think that they are part of the majority. They couldn't be more wrong.

I'd just like to take a moment here to say something for the silent majority.

We love this game.
We're having lots of fun.
Yeah, there are some bugs that suck, but for the most part, it's a great way to spend a few hours.

Sorry if you thought we didn't like it, but we do. Sorry if you thought ANet is losing customers left and right, but they aren't. They have us. So whine. Complain and threaten and troll and do whatever you wish. Just know that you are a minority, a hedge case, and just because you don't love this game, doesn't mean we don't.

I'm not saying this game is perfect. I'm saying that I agree with the design decisions and the direction. If you don't, please play something else, because you're going to ruin it for us.

**edit for clarity**

It was a good run. It was definitely worth $60.00 just like I'd say Diablo III also was. It was definitely worth the 300+ hours or so that I got from it.

The game was officially released on August 28th. That's 542 hours 23 mins before the time of your post. You have played 300+ hours. That means you have spent more than 55% of the total available time in your life playing this game since launch. Hoping you had at least 6 hours of daily sleep, you ended up playing nearly 75% of the every waking hour of your life in last 3 weeks or so.

I think the game got bored of you and decided not to offer you any more fun till you take some rest and help yourself in the process.

I say that jokingly. But, in all honesty, the impact of sitting on your butt 75% of the day will take heavy toll on your body. It does not matter how old you are. You will have serious issues with your health if you don't take a break now.

#1919285 Anet has a lot of gall...sending me an email to upgrade to Digital Deluxe

No, I already have a CE, that I can't get ANY of the in game items from.  For a week I've had the company and fanboys telling me I should be thankful I can even login and they'll get around to fixing my issue when they feel like it.

Then when I pointed out the poor taste of them sending that out to people who are having upgrade issues I get banned from their official forums.

Right now I am pretty furious with them.

I would have already requested one if I hadn't ordered the game from Gamestop and returning it isn't really an option.  I'm seriously kicking myself for not getting digital so I could get a refund or issue a chargeback.

The irony is, the game isn't that bad.  I just have this thing against being treated like dirt by a company.  For all the flack Blizzard catches, I never had to wait over two days to have a CS issue taken care of.

CS response times taking a while during launch week? Surely you jest.

#1894257 An unexpected gift from ANET.

Posted Eustolia on 06 September 2012 - 10:46 PM

Okay so today I got an email from ANET stating that since I had the 1032 error (character stuck in a world transfer) during the three day head start, they were giving me a free upgrade to the digital deluxe edition of the game. Needless to say I was a pretty happy camper. Though I did have to wait for 16 hours or so to finally play the game when I had that error code. Thank you arena net!
