#2182924 Guild Missions: A Good Foundation

Guild bounties are horribly developed, participated in 4 of them so far, it's just a head headache for large guilds to organize and there's no excitement or thrill factor. Wiki --> Link Waypoints --> Waypoint --> Land a hit or two on the boss --> Guild Commendation --> Leave

I hate to say it, but it's true.

Here's a novel idea, prepare yourself.

Do the Bounty...... *drumroll* withOUT the wiki!

*takes a bow*

Seriously, the diffrence between the organizing into groups, figuring out clues and finding the bosses my guild experienced the first time we did a bounty and later when we used the wiki for one is immense. You'll have a lot more fun playing the game and not chasing rewards by using the wiki.

Couldn't help but to think of A Song of Ice and Fire when I read how they named the patch :D

Looking forward to its content, albeit that settles that Fractals won't be overdone until much later.

I'd love it if they'd rework dungeons BEFORE removing the ability to waypoint while party members are in combat.

They are doing both...

Change encounters that required zerging, remove zerging. (No, Lupicus did not require zerging.)

...did you not pay much attention?

A lot of PR for one week.  Sounds like they're trying to fire up interest in the game now that the honeymoon period is over.

Ask for more transparency. Get more transparency. Must be PR!!!!

You seem impossible to please.

#2143954 Guesting Arrives January 28th

This feature was in Guild Wars 1, what is their reason for this?

Another reason for players to buy gems?  If that's the case, what a shame.

You've been playing on 1 server at a time since the end of August when the game lauched, why the hell are you bitching that you can play on 3 different servers per day? which which you can change on a daily basis.

You guys are to stupid to realize that ...

Today = 1 server at a time
January 28th = 3 servers at a time.
+ they're giving you a heads up to switch to you're permanent server.

It's incredible that you guys assume this is somehow a ploy to make people spend money on the cash shop

#2128825 Tired of NA WvW? Move to EU Servers!

Posted Junglizm on 27 December 2012 - 12:44 AM

This is part of the problem.  T1 servers beg for help while trying to take #1 with coverage instead of dispersing downward and spreading out the competition.  If you attain #1 because your server is stacked, congrats, you have successfully proven nothing beats coverage.  T1 server guilds would do good to take a page out of War Machines book and transfer their guild DOWN the ranks and actually work for their rating and help build a community.

Now, all they need to do is is make the PC version utilize DX11 instead of DX9, and then it will be perfect.  Hey ANET... this isn't a hint, it's a giant billboard saying "DIRECTX 11 PLEASE"

#1893708 Blackgate Server (NA) humbly seeks European, Asian and Australian PVP guilds...

They are not empty. HoD has a very large Aussie/Asian presence because of the recruiting efforts of TA.

So basically instead of Euros fighting pretty consistently with people in their own time zone, they should come to a US server just to fight a small number of zerg servers?

WvW would overall be better with EUs on EU servers, NA on NA servers, and Oceanic on Oceanic-recommended servers. It would also allow for a more accurate picture of server strength.

#1804946 I feel like a class B player, since i didn't play GW1

Posted RabidusIncendia on 24 August 2012 - 10:32 AM

If you feel bad about not playing GW1 how about those who have?

To have your MMO which you thought would last a long time pretty much die after like 3 years because the devs thought it best to make a sequel that tore out all the things you liked about the original...

And you're complaining about a name?  Sorry, but we've earned those 19 characters, thank you.

True. Its mostly cultural, though.

Most everything in terms of software is pirated in russia

because people are so poor.

False. It's because people are used to getting things for free. Soviet legacy..or soviet trauma, as we've come to call it nowadays.

View PostTheHanzou, on 21 August 2012 - 12:37 AM, said:

Thats why developers have developed a different distribution model only for russia in general (free game with subscription fee, for example Starcraft 2).

False. Also, the russian starcraft edition was actually more expensive than the eu. Eu was what, 60 usd? Russian was 30 usd + 15$/year. Or 60$ unlimited, which is the same as the EU version.

Only a very small minority in russia can even afford internet or online gaming, and mostly in the big cities.

Just for you to know, online games are among the cheapest hobbies out there. It only makes more sense that a poor people would be more inclined towards playing mmos..It's just 80% or so of russian mmo players are still stuck somewhere in 2004 and play on Lineage 2/Wow pirate servers, or even worse f2p (or p2w) games. Also a large margin of those stick to FPS/MOBA game types. If there is a country where dota is more popular than in Russia, that's China, because they have 20 times the population.

NP, you're always welcome for a quick course on russian history!

I do wish there were russian servers, there's nothing I hate more then being stuck on a server full of russians...

Your hate sustains us! Well, seriously. You would get more friendly Russian players if you were less aggressive towards the community. No decent guild seeks to mess with european players, and most guilds will go as far as kick members who spam public chats in Russian. Maybe there are some kids fond of spamming nonsense in the chat..report and ignore them, no need to project this mentality on the whole Russian community.

GW2 won't even get ONE subscriber, much less 9mil. You heard it here first.
