Quite true.
GW2 suffers from a major PvE polish problem that I don't think will ever be addressed - and the dungeons they have worked on after launch were temporary aside from Fractals.
That's stupid.

They have 2 sets of raid frames active.
There's no way to excuse that sort of waste of screenspace.
They're also playing on a low resolution. They could scale the UI elemens down by a ton to have more room to work with.

Good WoW UIs are clean and show all needed information.

I wouldn't quite use 'themepark' for Next - but it isn't proceadurally-generated; and has hardwired 'quests'.
The use of the Voxel Farm engine alone means it will be a lot easier to develope content on a weekly basis, while new content with new art assets are added on a more bi-monthly basis.

I have a feeling EQN will do GW2's 'living world' thing right.

If it's 'sandbox' in the same way that Age of Wushu is a sandbox, I'm all for it.

If not, react quicker/be more attentive

Every Thief build should have Shortbow. It's too good to not use. There's really no argument that can be made against using Shortbow in every build.
You'd probably have more success with a heavy 25 Deadly Arts build, too. Shortbow-4 and MH-Dagger-1 applying Weakness to everything you're fighting makes everything easy.

Aside from the poison-also-applies-weakness trait, 25 DA also gives Power - and like everything else in GW2, solo-PvE builds work best with as much DPS as you can pump out.
