In Topic: Defeating the Holy Trinity - Success or Failure?

A success since they did what they wanted; eliminate the trinity.  What resulted is a failure however.  I still enjoy the game, but it so lacks depth.  As everyone has stated you just pile on berserker gear and spam the few usable skills you have.  It could/should have been so much more.

yes the previous iteration of SAB was much better and more fun than the new one.  I played the first one every chance I had; the new one I play for one run through and then the rewards go down so no need to waste my time on it.  The first one allowed me to get desireable skins for multiple characters.  With the current drop rate and limitations I can see only getting one skin per acct.  The tie in with the gem store keeps me from even wasting my time with the newer content as although I have bought stuff on the gem store before this isn't something that I want to support.

I tend to agree with the OP here; the Living Story is failing because of too much material being of a temporary nature such that casual players can't keep up.  I can't tell you how many LS events ended with me one achievement or so away from the big prize.  It gets frustrating putting time and effort into an endeavor to watch it disappear.  Some of us have jobs and families and it simply takes more time to digest content.  I applaude Anet for releasing new content and trying to string together story plots, but it would be less stressful on the design teams and the players to slow it down.  Combine this with bad design decisions (like the way MF was eliminated and how the SAB is now only 1x per day per acct) makes we wonder what is going on at Anet and is the reason why we have an increase in viral posts on the forum and elsewhere.

In Topic: GW2 caters more to the hardcore players than GW1 did

I tend to agree with the OP here. Anet has lost sight of what is fun and focused on giving hard core players something else to grind after.  If ascended weapons were only relevant for fractal players then they would have the same stats as exotics plus an infusion slot or two.  No clearly they are meant for all players to get if you don't want to fall behind.  They are also trying to overcome some of their poor designs by requiring you to play certain content to get those acct bound materials.  Like the OP I don't enjoy fractals or anything else that requires a PUG however to gain certain mats to craft an ascended weapon you have to play fractals.  I just accept that I won't ever have an ascended weapon.  Design decisions like this, the way they handled the elimination of MF and the new SAB make me wonder what is really going on at Anet.  I got so pissed that I even went back and played GW1 and you know what; it is still fun after all these years.

Just another example of beating down on rangers.  Will it never end?
