Anet is looking for ways to discourage zergs? But if i take 5 guys into 50 in the best scenario i can only hit 25 while the other 25 own us. Why does this AoE cap exist? It obviously is beneficial to larger groups much like culling. So, does it exist only for Anets benefit for less server stress?
To me this AoE cap is the most detrimental thing to skilled small teams which in other games could roll larger numbers. I would like to see it increased at least in WvW.

IGN simply became so absorbed into mainstream it basically became a stream... Down mainstreat... Ok that was awful.

Bottom line, I always loved gamespy, ever since I installed gamespy arcade to play Quake 2... And get the legendary voice saying *let's get on with the killing*. Chills boys and girls :)

They are on the right path with agony resistance imo. I just hope they pursue it further.

There are also already some raid like DEs; for example, the Temple of Dwyana in Malchor's Leap. That event takes about 3+ groups to complete and requires a little more coordination than just random AoE with MF gear on.
I would much rather have a 10-player instance dedicated to fighting a dragon; which is tightly-tuned and has good encounter design; and pushes players to be in gear that compliments their role, with Magic Find gear disallowed (or obliterated from the game entirely) - rather than a no-challenge world event with 50 people spamming 1 in a haze of particle effects and random-seeming down-states due to the horrible processor optimization GW2 has.

But that's just me - a player craving PvE challenge who was sorely disappointed by ANet's slapdash casual-catering job.

That's what a vocal minority accomplishes.

People think the game is very bad, but in reality it's just a couple of people whining about a small part of the game.
Result is everybody forgets the good parts of the game.

But people that can remain objective and keep a distance from forums like this can give their opinion, and apparently some of these people think GW2 is GOTY. :)

Personally hoping for :
  • Dungeon finder.
  • Bigger group sizes for WvW.
  • Removal or improvement of magic find.
  • More legendaries/less good legendaries redesigned.
  • One or two more maps
  • One or two more dungeons.
  • At least one more jumping puzzle.
  • Many crafting improvements.
    more guild things

Some random clueless dude posts a video of him doing 25k damage in 3 seconds against an afk opponent. And the forum already goes nuts about how this proves that glasscannon eles are just as good as glasscannon thieves and warriors and should be nerfed.

Ok, I tried really, really hard to like my Elementalist. I tried every different spec that was suggested on the forums. I tried all the different weapon options, Dagger/dagger, Scepter/dagger, Scepter/focus, Staff (my least anoying choice), etc..
I tried teaming as much as possible and running dynamic events hoping the faster leveling would help; not terribly fast by-the-way.

I just can't stand constantly trying to damage things even though my damage output is pretty bad.
Constantly trying to absorb damage even though most anything will 2-shot me.
Constantly trying to kite everything because honestly, that is the only way this character has a chance to live through anything; but you better have a LOT of room room to run around.

I think I've just exhausted all my options and just can't do it anymore. I hate having to watch my screen like an eagle just incase I make a wrong move ONCE and it kills me. I also hate having to change attunment 15 times in every fight to have a snowballs chance in hell of winning; (exageration I know). :)

I decided to put my Elementalist on the shelf for now and forget about her, but I feel bad that I wasted so much time and effort to explore the map, find dyes, collect gear, etc.. just to abandon her. She's level 52 if you were wondering. I level pretty slow because I just can't play all the time and I've had her for about 2 1/2 months now, so that shows how slow I level.

I decided to give the Guardian a try. I liked this idea from the start, but because of my awkward playstyle (keyboard movement!...shocker, I know!), I thought it would be better to get used to the game with a ranged caster instead. Thinking I would have the power to kill most things at maximum range before they reached me and limit the kiting to just the tough fights; boy was I wrong!

So far I'm really enjoying the Guardian a lot more. Seems a more solid class all around. I can take a few hits, heal a lot better, and I can provided things to a group with healing, buffs, shields, etc.. I actually feel like once I get the movements down, I can contribute something to other people!

So is it just my imagination that the Elementalist just.....umm... sucks or have other people come to the same conclusion?

Constructive and useful criticism please. I don't need rabid fanboys getting all crazy-town here. :)

I wanna know what people think about where GW2 is at and where its headed.

I came into this game thinking I'd spend the majority of my time between WvW and SPvP.

This is how I feel about the state of PvE(where I spent majority of my time).

This will be the tl;dr edition cause I need to sleep

- Fractals is big improvement in dungeons.  
  • Scaling difficulty, different environments, different mechanics, all good
  • Never stay in one area to long so it doesn't grow dull as quickly as other dungeons
- Stop QQ'ing about RNG pink rings.
  • A month from now, noone gonna be crying about not having rings.  You can easily farm T2, T3, T4  daily chests for rings.  I've gotten to 30 with just 5 agony resistance
- Backpiece and infusion upgrades are questionable.  
  • I have 900+ gold, all legit, mostly farmed and buying/selling low/high on TP and I think 100 t6 + etc to make a small upgrade infusion is meh.  Especially since there are no other ways to get upgrade infusions atm(unless difficulty: 40+ or daily chests drop them)
  • 250e per backpiece upgraded is also meh.  I really hope this is Anet hinting at possible ecto price drop in the future(hopefully near)
- Make all old dungeons like fractals.
  • We run fractals cause we want loot, and supposedly get better loot the farther we go in.  Why not make the content inside the dungeons as valuable as the tokens and token merchant gear?
  • the recent update was meh.  needs more
-PvE zones suck. Thats why they're empty all the time.
  • What happened to those end of the beta events? Why not make a big zone wide event that only starts after XXXX amount of events are done within a zone. Then give everyone free loot and shit at the end of this big event.
  • PvE loot in general is complete trash. World boss chests give trash.  Jumping puzzle chests give trash. greens and blues not enough to keep people inside a specific zone.
-Spending money is the BEST way to make money
  • this is a huge problem for me. i can make more money sitting the the TP for an hour spending 400g and waiting 24 hours for it to turn into 450g or 500g than farming cursed shore for X days straight
  • why is it you cannot farm for amazing shit to sell on the TP??!?!?!?
  • MAKE ZONE-SPECIFIC EXOTIC SKINS...after you make pve zones stop sucking with crap loot drop rates

I'm neither disgusted or excited about the state of the game currently.  

I just want to kno what people think about this game in its current state tbh.  This is the wrong thread to white knight for anet or quote old anet dev posts.

The game was never bad, it is just a matter of preference. If you're used to the WoW method of a gear treadmill then this is likely not for you since a lot of the drive behind getting gear is for cosmetic purposes. There is however exploration to do, dungeons to complete, achievements to fill out, WvW or sPvP, or RP if you're into it.

Its a social game so if you're playing -alone- then you're doing it wrong xD

So there are people on this forum who say GW2 lacks content/is boring etc. Lets get the small one out of the way first. If you don't enjoy GW2, thats ok. If you are finding it boring, that's ok too. For all intensive discussion purposes, GW2 can be the worst game to ever exist, taking the crown from E.T.. That's ok.

But now, apparently, there is a lack of content. Remember, this is different to 'I don't find the content fun'. There is also the exclamations that there is no new content, when the game has neared the end of its first month.

So I ask you this first; what is your /age. How much did you pay for the game? I paid the full 60 USD. The last game I paid 60USD for which lasted me over 30 hours was Dark Souls. It took me 30 hours to complete the game for the first time, and considerably less on subsequent playthrus. I clocked about 90 hours total in the end.

At the time of writing this, I have spent 110 hours in GW2. None of which was in AFK. I considered all 110 hours of that time spent, fun. But fun, is beside the point in this topic, just to reiterate. What I find fun doesn't equate to what others find fun. But I'm completing content in the game, designed by the developers. My map completion is 31% and I've peppered some of that play time in with PvP and dungeon runs.

I paid 60USD for this. Not a cent more. Which other 60USD AAA game have you played recently that offered more than 30 hours of game time on your first play through. I say 30 because a skillful player, unaided by others, only doing PvE content, will probably have hit 80 and slayed the final boss. Why has it suddenly become expected of Arenanet to churn out new content like it is a subscription MMO?

Then there are those who say 'I'm going back to WoW' like it is a threat to Arenanet or the forum community. I don't care as much as the next guy. Why can't you play both games at once? Do you not have OTHER 60USD games installed on your computer? Does playing WoW delete those games from your hard drive?

TL;DR: This is a 60USD game, you can probably count with one hand how many other 60USD games that have constant content updates for free, with content that can last over 50hrs. Regardless of how fun you find this game or not, it is not lacking content.
