I'm serious guys, when did 25 hours become "insane"?

People voice their thoughts publically because it might knock some sense into other people, for one thing, who're still suffering from delusions via the way of cognitive dissonance. Another reason is to worry the company with public dissent. Seeing a lot of very public dissent that they can't stop will do more to make them change their ways than a nice email.

As has been said, they're a for-profit company. You need to hit them in the wallet. We need to stop bending over and taking it up the arse. They lied to us, they broke their promises, and they betrayed us. We need to tell them that that's not okay. To be honest? I won't be someone's bitch just because of a little thing like cognitive dissonance.

No one has been in my arse. I assure you.

I was an anti GW2 guy who joined the beta to debunk the claims they made. I found they did a good job and stayed.

Expectation, bro.

You thought you were getting the game in your head.

Have you considered they changed their mind for a good reason? Or because they are trying to close loopholes that other people exploit?

I'll use dyes as an example. Yes, I kinda wish they were account bound as well. But you know, dyes are already only a few copper to a handful of silver on the AH. Only a random few (like abyss, black, midnight ice, etc) are 5+ gold. If you unlocked a color for your entire account, it would devalue all dyes, and every color would only be a couple copper. You can't vendor them. You can combine them in the mystic forge. But if it was account bound, it would make most dyes totally useless and worthless. With them being character bound, it gives some of the colors a value still.

So I don't mind it so much.

The rest I figure someone is working on, or closing exploits, or they changed their mind on.

It's not fangirl-speak, it's just reality, and thinking from an in game economic and out of game security/business position. (By the way, did you notice things getting more expensive on the AH? There was a HUGE botting ban wave, it's the only explanation. Go anet!)

So, they take away the progression by upscalling you and then add gear progression instead?

Can't you just leave the freaking game?
Apparently you have every single thing ever added to the game, and yet you are still here whining about it in every single thread.

Be happy we get stuff for free at all.

A timed dungeon with acid. You can't leave the level without solving it.

I first read "A timed dungeon ON acid". God that'd be horrible, I'd spend 20 minutes looking at the Repair Anvil in the beginning.

as opposed to a game with lame ass rewards. what, you think everyone that makes videogames arent fun and somehow anet are the first of their kind to make an mmo fun?

yes, lets see, theres pvp...or...pvp...or doing anything that every other mmo has to offer anyway. oh, well you can dodge roll through the world because thats always a fun past time.

oh, well theres the real meat of any gw game, and thats cosmetic grind. if you choose not to chase cosmetic gear at all, theres nothing left for you. and anything that is left once done is done and thats the end of it.

Hi InfiniteRetro! I see from your YouTube channel you're up to 3,859 subscribers. This whole Armond White routine you've got going with GW2 is quite the attention grabber isn't it? Is it gratifying, the attention you're getting? It's certainly one route to attention, I'll give you that.

I see 41 minutes ago you posted "NaziNet Going Mental Banning Left, Left and Right". Why the two lefts? Was that intentional?

Good use of Godwin's Law, by the way. That's clever.

I have to admit, I've never considered going the angry clown route before when I want attention. I'm not naturally an attention seeking person, mind you, but do you recommend this as a way of getting attention if there's a point in the future when I want a lot of people to tune in to me? How should I start? Would it be better to START with overwhelming, negative, seething hyperbole about something popular? Or should I kind of lead into that slowly, do a kind of build up?

What does your trolling experience suggest is the best route to take?

That just goes to fort trinity, if you're a priory member and have progressed your story far enough the gate guard will let you through. The other orders should have something similar.

If WvW isn't substantially improved it doesn't matter what they do in my opinion because the only aspect I care about personally is WvW, thus disregarding all other aspects of the game that others may enjoy.
I fixed it for you, no problem by the way.

#2065106 Gave up on Legendary weapon.

Posted Shizu on 06 November 2012 - 04:39 PM

To the people who want better stats after X amount of time/effort invested: wrong game, go play something else.

To the people who want the 'work' required for a legendary to be significantly reduced: it's completely optional. It's not required in any way to be competitive. You aren't entitled to get everything just because it's in the game. Make it easier and people will complain about lack of long-term goals.

To the people against the RNG part of the process, I fully agree. I'm not talking about clovers. I'm talking about the precursor weapons.
The current system is absolute garbage. Make it incredibly long, longer than the legendary itself, but a forge recipe to craft the precursor weapons is required.

I don't care if it requires ten thousands orichalcum ingots and twenty thousands ectoplasms, but any form of RNG should be relegated to korean garbage like Aion.
Long-term goals are fine and healthy for any mmorpg. RNG bullshit was annoying in 2002, now it's simply unacceptable as a form to increase longevity.

Yeah, that game with and instanced world instead of a persistent world that changes throughout dynamic events... yeah, I remember that game. It was a different one.

At the end of the day, it's still free content. Why would anyone complain about that? Would people complain if someone brought free cookies, and they were all eaten before you could get at them? I wouldn't, because it was free, if I had to pay for it, your damn right I should be able to get some,

Stop tying WvW to servers.  Just make it a massive version of Structured, with new battles opening up as soon as there are enough people queued up for it. Make the whole battle last for a few hours only. Increase the rewards for the folks that participate in the battles and remove the passive bonuses.

And then remove servers and give us back districts.

Oh god, no.

I can't identify myself with all of you guys who complain about the current dungeons being bad? Sure, there are a couple of paths that are broken but they already stated that they are working on fixing them. You can't ask for more.

- If you think mobs have too much HP, you are lacking DPS.
- If you think you get one shotted for no good reason, fix your gear / traits / pay more attention / l2p.
- Waypoint too far away? Be glad they didn't pull a GW1 on you guys (something I personally had hoped for) where wipe = restart area.
- Too many mobs? Just run past them, like you did in every dungeon and elite area throughout GW1.

I understand that ArenaNet wants everyone to be able to take part in everything they develop, but allowing for the current behavior / attitude among players in dungeons is just pitiful. When Arena Net claims that explorable mode dungeons should not be for pugs, and that they should take a substantial amount of time, and people are able to complete these dungeons in 12 minutes with 2 players, what's their credibility like for the future? If you tried to go into UW / DoA in GW1 with a crap build and poor attitude, you would get instawiped so hard on the first quest that you never dared set foot in there again. This allowed for an overall high quality in dungeon players in GW1. I really do hope that they actually dare exclude a large amount of the player base from the final rewards of this new dungeon.

A player will never ever improve if his poor play is not punished harshly. The people who wish to learn will eventually get better, and the people who don't will be left in the dust, QQ'ing on the forums about how elitist this game is blah blah blah - just the way it should be.

It must get boring pretty fast..

Just play with your own music.

Sometimes I do but I mostly like how the original music completes the atmosphere.
Devin Townsend isn't really a good ambiance for high fantasy :P
