Ghastly Grinning Shield

20 November 2012 - 02:02 PM

Hello everyone!

I'm thinking of buying the ghastly grinning shield skin, however with them sitting around 20g I wanted to be sure about something first.

If I use the skin on my current exotic shield and lets say in a few months ascended weapons come out, would I be able to use that skin again or transmute the exotic shield I used it on?

Thanks!

Hello!

Does anyone know in which area the heart vendors are that sell the tier 3 asura weapons? In particular the shield and/or pistol.

Thanks

Hello every1!

Currently I'm running these specs:
16.4 inch 1920x1080p screen
GT 540M 1GB (ddr3 I guess)
I5 2.3GHz
4GB RAM

I'm a big WvW player and right now in a zerg I'm getting a miserable 10fps on lowest settings, so I'm looking to upgrade.

What I was looking at were these laptop:
- Alienware M14x (I7 quad 2.2GHz, GT 650m, 6GB RAM, 1600x900 screen)
- ASUS N56vz (I7 quad 2.2GHz, GT650M, 8GB RAM, 1920x1080 screen)
- MSI GE60 (I7 quad 2.2GHz, GTX660m, 8GB RAM, 1920x1080 screen)

Looking at the specs these are all relatively the same, except for the MSI which with the GTX660m has a higher clocked GT650M, but that is only a minor difference.

The problem is these laptops while an upgrade aren't the best gaming notebooks either.

But when looking at even higher end you're going to the Alienware M17x, the Clevo's, the MSI GT's. However I have to carry my laptop to school 3 times a weak, so those aren't really an option unfortunately.

Now my question is: would the laptops above run GW2 (WvW) at a playable framerate on medium - high settings and at 1600x900 resolution?

If yes, I'll look at reviews to decide which would be the best option. If no, I'll probably put together a 15inch Clevo.

Just for the sake of it the Clevo would have:
1920x1080 screen, 7970m, I7 quad 2.2GHz, 8GB RAM
at a cost of 400 dollars more than the above.

Thanks in advance!

Transmute while keeping both skins?

22 October 2012 - 10:58 PM

For example, I just bought the Vaatlaw set, which is a quite expensive 4G a piece set. Now I want to transmute the stats of that Vaatlaw set to my WvW invader set. However I would also like to keep the skin of the Vaatlaw set. Would this be possible?

And a second question; On accident I bought the invader set when I wasn't rank 80 yet, so the set is a rank 70 exotic. I can still transmute rank 80 gear with it right?

2am posting I hope you can understand :).

Thanks in advance!

Power/condition hybrid (WvW)?

21 October 2012 - 12:49 AM

Hello,

In general I don't like the rifle playstyle and considering pistol isn't all that great with power I'd need to stack some condition damage (and precision) to do decent damage. However in WvW grenades are almost a necessity and grenades scale better with power... so there lies my problem.

Now I'm wondering how would I start getting all those stats. I'll basicly need a combination of thoughness/condition damage/precision/power in my gear.

As for traits I was thinking about this build: http://gw2skills.net...aBhA;TMAjKOVMJA

Does any1 have any idea's for armor/runes or more importantly wether or not this will be viable?
