I am just curious whether the new rewards will be in line with currently established dungeons (token reward system) or just another RNG galore.

I am almost inclined to bet the latter, which would suck immensly.

I think 99% of people looked at the time and effort required to craft a legendary and that it was only a skin and said no thanks even without the ridiculous cost or lottery winning luck required to get a precursor which later became apparent. So no I don't think many care.

Are you 100% sure it's not equipped in your toy slot?  Try switching between your armor and town clothes.

The whole point of guesting for me was so that I could play with the other region players. As it is now, guesting isn't much of an issue as we can already dungeon group with the same region no matter what world we're in.

And guesting now only works for your own continent. That's the problem what most ppl talk about. Sure that quote can be read as "you can chose if you play on US or EU" but guesting makes not that much sense, because you already join instances with friends on other servers, the whole new thing about guesting are the quest areas.

The only thing that's stopping people transferring to whatever server they like, when they like is WvW. Address the WvW concern and you're there.

For me, the best solution is to decouple WvW from your server so where you are in game is indepedent to your WvW loyalty. This can be done in so many different ways I am very curious as to why it’s not done that way in the first place.

For example, a new field in the database called ‘loyalty’ this field holds the name of your chosen WvW server. To stop you WvW elsewhere the loyalty field is checked against your actual server. If the two match great if not you're out of luck.

Buffs are calculated on this loyalty field, as is every other WvW restriction. If everyone chooses the same loyalty then either cap it (just like servers are), or they accept they will have to wait longer(just like now).

Disable the ability to harvest and get Dragon loot from any server that’s not your loyal one and let people jump to whatever server they want to whenever they like. Just like they did at release. If people want to change loyalty well charge em gems just like now.

If the server you want to go back to is full, then either wait or go to a mutually agreed server until it is.

All the issues with guesting, population in open world and the spectre of server mergers down the line go away.

The thing is, it’s a fundimental design issue. Somewhere along the development line the question ‘how do we get people playing together no matter where they live’ was either discarded as unimportant or pushed into the ‘well guesting will fix it’ bucket.

For a so called next-gen MMO, the server mechanic is as outdated as it is frustrating. What’s surprising me is that this community focussed, innovative and talented group of designers can’t find a way around it.

Guesting max of twice per day, meh that's just annoying and idiotic. They couldn't be arsed to find another solution to the problem of people jumping between servers to do things like mining I guess so they went the lazy route and said "if we just let them do it twice a day the damage won't be as big". Lol and this took them 5 months to get out. But whatever, it's better then what we have right now.

It being region based, that is even stupider. I see no good reason what so ever for this to happen? Same with American/EU not being able to do dungeons together. It's a anti social and unnecessarily restrictive system and I thought they wanted to move away from things that prevented people from playing together. Obviously that was just bullshit as well. They don't want you to have European/American friends. You're only allowed to have friends in one part of the world in Guild Wars 2.

I really can not fathom why this took them 5 months.

This feature was in Guild Wars 1, what is their reason for this?

Another reason for players to buy gems?  If that's the case, what a shame.
