#2132192 The Elder Scrolls (Single-Player Games)

Posted Rhododendron on 31 December 2012 - 02:27 PM

And another thing. 70% of all mods everywhere lack one basic, decent detail: before and after pictures. But no goddamnit, let's put screenshots with moody night shots in the mists with a bunny in the foreground and the hunter with the modded armour in the distant, let's upload a sexy chick with the modded sword sheated, let's upload a new vegetation type photographed in a forrest at night!

As backwards as gender stuff is in American video games, it's even more backwards in Japan. I really don't expect any better from anything that comes out of there.

#2050946 Darkfall Unholy Wars

Darkfalls graphics and ambiance are actually the best in the business.  They work very well for the world of Agon, and there isn't a game that does it better.

This game has indeed been 13 years in the making, with the first iteration being more of a long term open beta.

They did indeed listen to the community which is why they have taken on and implemented this massive reworking of an already good game.

I understand most people on this site are going to be more interested in cookie cutter, smash 5 buttons on your keyboard, no risk or reward type of theme park game ...but those games get old and boring quick.

With the reworking.   Little to no grind.  Improved PVE and dungeon experiences.  Improved ways to protect the "new" player.  Housing.  City building.  Continent building.  Crafting.  Player vendors.  Massive naval wars. Open world, full loot pvp.  and on and on and on.

The first few months of Darkfall Beta (or 1.0) were some of the most fun, thrilling, fulfilling gameplay I have experienced since pre T2A Ultima Online.  You're talking the best game since 1998.

#1957417 Why do Tier 1 Cultural Weapons cost 9000+ karma ?

It's because you can transmute the appearance on to any weapon you like (of the same type). Like that T3 cultural weapon but don't like the stats? Get a T1 and transmute the appearance onto that ugly exotic whatever that you're lugging around.

Except that you can achieve the same thing by buying a level 1 Krytan anything, for example, off the TP for like 40c and then transmuting it.  Because that's what the T1 skins are.  Likewise, the other tiers are all available from the TP in terms of appearance.  They need to either be totally unique or they need to cost waayy less.  I had less than 9k karma at 35 by a longshot, and I hadn't been buying much of anything with it.

#1884022 Teleporting costs?

Posted Kujo on 05 September 2012 - 01:02 PM

You can always run instead of teleport. The only cost is time.

Although I think it would be a good idea (maybe not free) but to halve the costs for teleporting in 100% completed zones.

And you were rewarded with one piece of actual armor for completing story for the first time. Why on earth did they remove this? On top of it all they put in crap armor that you can easily find as loot, and listed the real armor as exotic. I find it scandalous and I'm surprised so many people are just accepting this. They waited until launch to sucker in this disgusting change.

Just wait for the more casual players to reach 80. When they will try the dungeons, fail because it's too hard for most people and see the numbers of run they have to do for a complete armor, if things are still as it is currently, the backlash will be hilarious.

#1885697 *SPOILERS* So... Zhaitan...

Also speaking of animations, I'm disappointed in that area as well, some of the animations are even worse then the original Guild Wars. Like when you're sailing away on the boat from Claw Island, it just sails like a raft and turns like a cart on rails...

When they released the bonus mission pack and showed what the animation team did there, I thought that would be at least a glimpse of what we would see in Guild Wars 2, especially after 5 years of development. Not NPC's doing /emote

If the dragons of Guild Wars 2 are really such amazing forces of power then why are they sitting around? Aren't they supposed to be busy terrorizing the world? 150 years and what exactly has Zhaitan done? Doesn't seem like the world is struggling to me lol.

I just did that story mission last night, god that ship sailing scene should have been cut, or at least shortened (it seemed like I was watching it forever). It looked like a boat on a Disney ride.

Also, I agree about the world not struggling. It is way more prosperous than GW1 ever was.
