Fewer items dropping ?

Playing today ...I think fewer items seem to be dropping.Even... less junk .For a cash starved crafter who's xp is ALWAYS out distancing his crafting...this is not good.I have to spend money for crafting items.......and it seems the put someone from the IRS on charge of the econony who loves to nickel and dime every move you make,

Is There a Viable Sniper Build

I'm still struggeling to find THE class for me. The key reason I chose to play this game.......WvW.

I have a 62 Necromancer and a 41 Ranger.

So far...Necro beats ranger

but I'm wondering which class should invest some time in
I generally like to fight from range.

Please share not only your suggestion but...what it is that keeps you playing the class ?

My thoughts on WvW

I have a 61 Necromancer...41 Ranger and 12 Mesmer.i've played GW2 in most every beta big and small. I'm 10 year DAOC vet.....RVR is what keeps me playing mmogs.NOT PVP....rvr(faction vs faction conflict).

I'm very disappointed in the current state of WvW.The biggest single fault IMO.......postage stamp size maps(I'm simply exausted complaining about the que's).WvW map micro size almost completly negates any tactics or strategy.The enemy can get their zerg(assuming they have the manpower) anywhere before a reinforced door can be taken down...anywhere to retake a supply camp.So the game becomes  a ping pong match...where 24/7 population is key...where the zerg is ALMOST the only meaningful form of effective fighting.

WvW in its current state, fighting effectively submerges the individual and the class.The game is mostly ..... the zerg.The group(5-8 people so common in DAOC) seems an almost unknown concept.I asked on map chat..as an exercise if any group needed a necromancer and of course I ended up just talking to myself(and no, I don't think it was because I was a Necro).

So...yeah..this is a rant.A rant because I  still care.I still care because the game has so many great quaitys and potential.


My fife who is also a 10 DAOC vet.Has gone back to DAOC.Not because of friends(many are gone now).But,Because she wants her characters, and what she does in game play, to matter. She...like me does not want  be part of a tangle of players all spamming whatever skill....and who victorys are quickly erased in minutes by an enemy zerg.

1200 Maximum range for Mesmer ?
