Like the post above dabble a bit into precision but dont have to have it your main focus. If youre going for survival, in pve the focus is a lot better than the shield. The shield is a lot more usefull in PvP than it is in PVE.
As mace/focus is a bit overkill( a guildie of mine facetanked 2 champs and 1 vet in fractals the other day with it) it does work.
Personally i use Sword/Focus and GS.
But to each their own.

Purpose of the post is to see if its just me getting that( like graphics driver issue) or if its a common thing everyone sees

I think of fractals kind of like an advanced version of the bonus mission pack from gw1

Some of them are past events in Tyria. For example: the charr one, is when charr invaded ascalon and albern destroyed his sword and turned everyone to ghosts( i think). But thats really the only one that i recognized.
