SoR has some momentum and the same advantages SoS did when it first hit T1.   Unfortunately, to date,  SoR has utterly lacked the drive to go for anything, but second place.

You are both ignorant and a fool. You also seem to have a complete and lack of understanding that inability != lack of drive. Are you stupid, extremely shortsighted, or what? Please tell us, inquiring minds want to know.

Know this, up until recently, the only reason SoR has even gotten to T1 is do to drive and persistence. When a server can put up such a good showing despite having 12 hours+ a day where they ticked away at less than 100ppt (up until recent transfers) for months due to low population in those time zones, your comment and all those that follow are baseless and hollow.

So you trolling bro or are you really that big of an idiot?

#2185732 T3 - Dragonbrand,Yak's Bend & SoS

Posted chuckles79 on 30 March 2013 - 06:03 AM

we're not transferring Evil.

The sudden drop from week 1 T3 to week2 had us considering it, but we realize that SoS has a lot of raw material to work with.  FANG is more interested in overall WvW participation than PPT or the scores.

Look at the other folks who left; AGG, FoE, the AoI alliance and a host of others left our 3rd place server to create the NEW third place server.  Notice that they are already leaving and moving on to greener pastures.  Most of them in lower tiers.

ZN and HL, two of my former favorite guilds, left us to join sixth place Fort Aspenwood.  I assure you that if they had stayed we would be  comfortable in Tier 3 and it would be a lot funner.

I want to stop being Mr. "good game guys" for a minute and call out YB and DB (though to a lesser degree) for your first-rate cowardice tonight on SoS BL.

YB had us outnumbered 4-to-1 but was too chicken to commit to actually trying to drive us from the map.  Likewise, DB sniffing at the edges of the fight and confusing the issue; but not being willing to commit to any kind of open field fight with us.

SoS is going to leave T3 and might not be back for a while.  You could at least show us a little respect and come at us for a real fight.  Instead you PvDoor with your numbers advantage and then refuse to fight.

BTW LOL at the YB guys who contacted some TSYM guys wanting to coordinate.  What a lack of any kind of class, guys!

SoS is getting their ass royally handed to them even in T3. They're not just losing, they're losing spectacularly. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

First off, I want to say I have a huge amount of respect for RG. They are an amazing guild and they do what they do better than any other guild out there. That being said, they pulled the equivalent of "1v1 me b****" when they demanded GvG. After a roughly even number of wipes between the Tsym + pugs group vs the RG + PRX group (which were pretty much even in numbers), RG basically called us out and even went so far as to talk some trash. I don't know if its just because they aren't used to getting wiped ever, or if they had something to prove, but they pretty much wouldn't take no for an answer. So we did the best we could to answer their call, we beat them in the fight (yes, with larger numbers, though not as much as they claimed), and they made a big deal over it.

I have no doubt that in a perfectly even, 25v25 fight in open field, RG would beat us. They are built specifically for that fight, they run all exotic 80s (did not see a single upscaled player on their side), they run builds specific to open field combat etc. Tsym on the other hand, has at any one point 15-30% non 80s, runs a balance of builds for open combat, siege, speed etc, and we always have new recruits running with us that are not quite up to speed. But WvW skill is not measured by who wins in a GvG fight, it's measured by what you accomplish on the field, and I believe our accomplishments speak for themselves in that regard. If people think we are terrible and want to prove it, come face us in WvW, but don't expect us to face you on your terms, we play WvW as we see fit, using any and all tools (as long as they are not exploits) at our disposal.
Alright, here is the thing.  Were not going to bring this up anymore, were not going to engage this crap anymore, and were going to walk from it.  The live stream is out there, i effed up and didnt block my chat box, but in retrospect that was a very fortunate mistake.  You can hear my voice talking, you can see my tells, you can see my /team chat.  Watch the damn vid, and lets this crap drop.

At no point did I or TSYM intentionally try and cheat.  But DONT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT.  Watch the damn vid if you care so much.  Unless my character was giving some sort of sigh language, or pugs were in the same room with my at my house, there was no way I could have cheated and not have it recorded.

Yes, a few pugs saw the fight and jumped in, but if the line between win and loss was a few pugs, it wasnt that close.  Let it go, grow the hell up, and move on.

We're a game forum, meaning there are 3 types of people:

The Good: They have criticism, but they also appreciate the overall quality of the game. Nothing to complain about.

The Bad: This person chews on their fingernails waiting for responses for a living. Generally pessimistic, this forum-goer likes to attack other people's comments and make fun of Justin Beiber and other unrelated topics on a daily basis. Though called out several times, he doesn't care because work starts at 8 and they, 'Like, think sleep is totally useless lol #yolo'.

The Ugly: This person is somewhere in between the ranks of belly button lint, a floor made of legos, and a 4 week old lasagna casserole with green beans and mushrooms. They attack forums with everything bad about the topic, and will not rest until they make everyone feel like a pile of dog crap. Which they can't do. They'll suck life out of a game, in this case, GW2, and regurgitate it into words that are probably scrawled onto satan's forearm as his list of insults.

So there you have it. The forums of every MMORPG and game in general ever played.
Good luck out there, you're gonna need it.

#2068273 Coron's guide to enjoying WvW

Posted coronbale on 08 November 2012 - 09:40 AM

Greetings future or present WvWer,

If you have stepped into a WvW match, you have probably been more confused than fired up with the spectacle you were confronted with.  When you read the "team" chat, your confusion deepens.

Here is a one stop shopping to how to enjoy your WvW time.  Its step by step, so no matter your WvW experience you can fill in the holes of your education.

1)  Join a WvW guild if your serious about learning.  Doesn't need to be the #1 guild, any that you see in there rolling together will do.  Don't get pinned down to just one, roll with them for a few days, then try another.  Find one that fits your play style!  This is the step a LOT of people gloss over, and it leads to terrible times in WvW.  You really have NO IDEA what you are missing by not joining with a team that is coordinating portal flanks and counter tactics in a voice chat server!

2)  Ask questions!  This ties into 1 because if you ask it in /t or /m your going to get a million answers, and some insults as well.  Guilds are a great way to get the noob questions out of the way, and get to the good stuff!

3)  NEVER NEVER NEVER play for the score.  Your in furious combat with an enemy team.  They are juking and flanking for position, but your enemy commander makes a great move to win the day.  Battle finishes, bags collected.  Does it really matter if your up 100k or down 100k at that point?  Playing for the score means you will ONLY enjoy WvW if your server is up in points.  You will ONLY enjoy the game when winning, and turn into a giant Dbag while losing.  That and most of what happens in WvW with relation to the score has nothing to do with any 1 person or guild.  Your job is the battle at your feet, let the score sort itself out!

This also goes for when your winning.  Just because your team happens to be up in points, does not mean its time to gloat and rub peoples faces in it.  Respect and sportsmanship attitude goes a LONG way in building a reputation as a great WvWer!

4)  If you go into WvW alone, you lose the right to talk crap on the people who are organizing the team.  Even if they do it wrong, they are doing it.  Support them, and ignore people who want to shut them down.  Other side of the coin is true.  If your getting badmouthed by a commander, don't follow him!  Find a leader you can follow.

5)  Learn how to LOSE.  When you take a loss, you are in an extraordinary learning situation.  Getting angry and deflecting blame to everyone around you causes you to take nothing away from the loss.  Learning from every defeat will make you a force to be reckoned with.  Tied with this, is find a guild that can lose correctly as well.  Again, if your guild is only good when winning, and turns nasty when losing, find another one!

Some food for though here, every matchup is 1v1v1, which means technically there are 2 loser servers, and 1 winner.  Do you really think 2/3 of the population in WvW should be miserable at all times?

You'll notice nothing in this list speaks to what siege equipment to buy, where to place it, what points are important, what guilds are winners, or anything of the sort.  Without the proper attitude you will be miserable in there in any situation other than a complete shut out of the enemy.  If you haven't guessed, success in WvW is VERY complex, and often times the more skilled teams and commanders can take a loss from factors they (and you) have no control over.  If it rains on your football game, do you cuss out your coach?

Follow these steps, and you'll start to see just how AMAZING this game can be!  PVE has only a few weeks at most to offer you, alts can only take you so far, WvW will last for the life of the game.  No match is the same, no map is the same, no battle the same.

From myself and Tsym, we hope you enjoy your time in WvW!

I have a feeling that this is a case we have seen before...  OP says he posted a rational, well thought out post when in reality it was a rant laced with profanity or just antagonistic and useless.
