This pick is ridiculously silly. A cosmetic item for what is arguably the most boring part of the game, and generally something you do "on the side" while doing other things, or for your dailies.
It's not even an advantage money wise because it costs over 20g worth of gems, which means you'd have to get over 50k uses out of it just to break even.

Holy shit! My character's manual labour is now slightly amazing!(butletspretenditsnotgoingtogetboringafterthefirst20uses)

I'm not a fan of renown hearts either. I suggest holding out on doing them unless they're coupled with a dynamic event. Once that happens they're usually finished well before the event is over.

They still have some ascended pieces to release, then they can go through infusions as per the post above me mentions, and they'll top it all off with a level cap increase.

No need for any additional tiers of quality to keep this treadmill going.

They won't add a gear tier above ascended, but they will add increasingly better infusions.  Notice that the best infusions you can get now are blue.  I'm betting they'll add green infusions, then orange, then pink, where the higher the tier, the more ridiculously expensive it'll be.

The way it works is so easy to game it is not funny.
Get one person in the top ten, that person then continues to rack up kills while also 'fighting a few buddies' and letting them win. Next thing you know his buddies are now top ranked too. (The formula gives you more points if you beat someone high ranked.)

Dno, I didnt have any problems when organizing GvG with EMP. We both gave each other the time to get things sorted and he also showed me the field, and even though I knew it (had done gvg before) I was respectful enough to let him say what he wanted, nothing wrong with that. Looking at the video I dont even know why a comment like "FIGHT NOW" was pmed back. In our GvGs noodles said go on "xx:xx" on the timer, and thats exactly when we both began the fights. A total of 8 GvGs and I never had a problem with EMP, so I suppose some of you guys are doing something wrong.

Anyways, that GvG looked like nothing more than dumping banners and auto attacking, still an incredibly primitive level of play.

Absolutely.  So, the question I see now is whether someone wants to put in the energy to try and change ANet's attitude.

"We want each character to have a unique experience in WvW, so World Ranks and WXP are all character-based values rather than account-based." - Apparently, everyone's WvW experience now is the absolute same and the only way they can make sure that it's unique is to hope people pick WvW skills in different orders on different characters.

"We believe that in the long run, this will actually help incentivize players to experiment with various different ability builds for each character." - The builds won't matter if everyone eventually reaches the same full set of skills, but I'm sure that wouldn't happen, because then people would be done with their progression and, by your standards, have nothing left to do there.  Having all the same builds will also mean that a person's experience really isn't any more unique than before when everybody had no WvW skills.

"It also creates a long term goal for players of multiple characters, as they can strive to rank up multiple characters to help show off their dedication to WvW." - Progression being character based makes it impossible to show any sort of "dedication" while playing other characters.  Also, it seems you haven't gotten the message that players with multiple characters aren't looking to have more progression to look forward to for every one of their characters.  It's like outfitting multiple characters is in itself not a long term goal to any of you.

"One of the goals our team set for ourselves with the WvW progression system was to ensure that it could be expanded in the future. In fact, we’re already working on additional abilities that we plan to release in the future, and we’ll increase the amount and variety of abilities available for purchase in future updates." - In other words, like I said before, you're very open to the idea of giving everyone more progression to work on if players somehow run out, because it would be too dangerous in your mind if for some reason players started doing something in the game that wasn't for the sake of chasing progression.
