One of my biggest issues is how optional the story is; basically, the default way to experience GW2 is to not experience any of the lore. You need to intentionally push yourself to experience the lore, otherwise the game is simply a different take on Tetris. Now, for a guy that absolutely despises reading novel-length dialogues in games, this sounds like a superb match; but it ended up being TOO optional. I think an RPG needs to force a certain amount of lore onto the player and GW2 doesn't force it enough.

I thought the outlaw armor pieces were really really ugly but I decided to give them a go anyway.  I actually like the result in a kind of post-apocalyptic "Beyond Thunderdome" kind of way.

Best experience was just alittle while ago, running around doing Frost and Flame Molten facility for the first time, was waiting out there with a few others on my server for it to open up and saw a name I recognized, brushed it off as luck and then to my surprise they whispered me. Was an old old friend from Guild Wars 1 I had lost contact with. We got to talking chatting and reminiscing about old times and the most messed up thing was 3 more people showed up that we knew. It was like good old times, and now I have 4 old friendships that have been renewed :) Small world sometimes lol

My best GW2 experience has definitely been swimming to the bottom of the bay in Lion's Arch to explore the old and sunken Lion's Arch from GW1.

if you're going full defensive armor and runes, then pretty much any class in zerker gear and a good build is going to do more dps than you. all you'd have to fall back on is power, but little to no precision or crit damage. also, going more defensive = dragging the fights out longer than they have to be, which has the potential to hurt everyone, not just the glass cannon(s) in your group.

if you're really worried about staying alive while still wanting to do halfway decent damage, go with knight's gear and either ruby trinkets or emerald trinkets with ruby orbs in them.

I would love to see more players united against the lockboxes. They are predatory and manipulative in the very same way that combining a gear treadmill and a subscription fee is... Yet ArenaNet cheerfully waxed poetic on how unscrupulous the P2P market is. GW1 had an "honest" cash shop based on flat fees and a fair amount of my anticipation for GW2 was partly based on the assurance that the cash shop would mirror its predecessor. GW1 did just fine with an honest cash-for-(digital) goods system, why are we now tolerating anything different?

I have yet to buy a key or lockbox, though I've otherwise purchased gems and gem store items. I want Arena Net to do well, I want to support them, I want them to have the funds to pay happy, healthy workers and flood the game with polish and content. I don't want them to employ shady marketing practices.

Ship Crystin Cox back to NCSoft (edit: Nexon? whatever - MapleStory) where she belongs.

Interesting idea that is being poorly executed.

The living story would be amazing if it really changed the game and stuck. If players had stories to tell after it was over. If outposts/towns/forts were destroyed by the story and then stayed destroyed or if he landscape was visibly scarred from the effects for good then the world would evolve. Old players would be able to say "Yea, I remember when there was a town here. The dredge came and wiped it off the map with a big drill. Everyone tried to work together to save the town, but we failed." New players would be all "Man that really sounds cool, I can't wait till something happens again so that I can be a part of the world."
