You can make a new character, play the game until halloween starts, and save a few keys.
Black Lion Chest sometimes drop a key themselves.
But don't let me stop you from finding some way to hate ANet.

You know what's ironic though? People call Blizzard greedy for asking a subscription fee for WoW, which is a pretty straightforward way of making money, but have no problem with ArenaNet using shameless gambles to milk the players. I bought the game to play Guild Wars 2, not Shop Wars 2. It's been a shame seeing the game destroying every single principle it stood for just for NcSoft/ArenaNet to make even more money.
And I think you're forgetting the exchange rate is ridiculously high, making it so that you have to grind a lot in order to get pretty much any of the stuff that costs gems. In a game which promised no grinding it's kind of dumb to have everyone do just that, especially given how many things cost gems (some of them very basic, like bank slots).
WoW has its own Cash Shop ON TOP of its Sub Fee. Check your facts. They are Greedy. Also you CAN and do get Keys in game! You can get them as drops, you can get them for Story Rewards, Map completions, Daily rewards, ETC. So chill... you all take this way too seriously.
ANet isn't doing anything they haven't done in their first game too. There is no Power to be had in a BLC only conveiniance items... news flash you don't NEED some silly skin. You just WANT it so you complain about it. Hah. Scruples.

They only 'milk' people with no self control. I personally will allot up to $15/mo for the gem store, although I have yet to spend any money on it at all. This is the cost of a typical subscription and a fair amount to give them, IMO. I can also choose NOT to spend it at any time.
Gas companies raising prices of gas people NEED to get to work is what milking is.

'Hey guys, we're going to have a Holiday event where you can buy and possibly even loot special items that have no bearing on your gameplay'... how is this dodgy? It's not bait-and-switch and they aren't lying.

99% of all statements made with these words at the start tend to be complete and utter nonsense posted by someone who thinks too highly of themselves. Your posting continues this trend.
It is, after all, nothing but an opinion. I sure seem to consider my game complete, and the bank? I bought it for gold, paying comparatively less ingame money than I would have paid if I had bought them in, say, WoW.
There literally is zero difference to WoW and any other MMO. I know you are butthurt about Arenanet for some reason, but at least remain sane in your criticism. REAL F2P-Cashgrab games work completely different. You are ignorant to the max if you think they're even in the same universe.
Here's things that a F2P-Cashgrab game tends to do
-have some sort of cash system that rewards you with items for buying cash independently of what you buy with the cash itself, so you think you are getting extra value
-make these "bonus" items at intervals that are beyond what you'd normally spend, meaning people spend more
-quest items for cash
-no way to get the items ingame, or only very limited ways
-gameplay differences between cash and no cash, for example items that increase your HP permanently, items that give massive bonus damage, skins that are completely different than anything obtainable ingame (laser swords, demon wings) and give stat boni
-incentives for first-time spenders, bonus items. A very common thing is to have a first-time-spender-tier, that works ONLY for first time spenders and gives different bonus items depending on what they spend, but ONLY once.
What does A-Net have? Minor ingame conveniences you can easily get with ingame gold. It doesn't even cost much.

Normally people are split between playing at different times of day, and some doing PvE/PvP/WvW. On the shuffle day, you focus that community into one activity, at one time.
It never died.

I don't think that the situation is any different. Yes, people do less trading via the mail system, but then again a bigger percentage of people who do this do get scammed since it is so much easier as all you have to do as a scammer to scam others is to get them to send their item/gold first.
That isn’t using his logic against him; that is saying that idiots should get special protection and be rewarded for being idiots. Just because someone thinks the mail system is a trading tool does not make it so, and just because they treat it as one does not mean it should be one. It means they are noobs who don’t know what they are doing and refuse to learn how to play. You shouldn’t be arguing to protect their stupidly you should be trying to educate them.
The mail is not a trading tool. Period. It doesn’t matter how many people think it is, or how often it gets used as such. It simply isn’t, nor will it ever be, and Arena Net has zero responsibility to enforce illegitimate trades made through the mail system. And to be frank, I know I am being a bit harsh, anyone stupid enough to repeatedly use the mail system as a trading tool in spite of getting scammed deserves to get scammed over, and over, and over, and over again until they learn their lesson. These people are deliberately trying to cheat the system by circumventing the trading post and avoiding a necessary tax, and in real life if someone gets caught for tax evasion they go to prison, so in a game world I think the loss of a little digital gold or items is fine.
A world where cheaters actually get punished for cheating is a great thing.

Casuals don't like raids because they believe it's this evil thing that only the hardcore elitist can do, which simply isn't true.
That is also not true , casuals dont like raids because they take a very long long time to complete and because you need a big group to do it.
Casuals usually dont spend tons of hours/day in a game thus they usually got less connections.
Honestly , raiding is for "hardcore" , if not because they are incredible hard , because they require tons of time. Dungeon runs are much faster.
