Buying new headphone, which one?

14 July 2012 - 03:52 PM

I'm looking to buy a new headphone that is usable for multiple features. However I don't know much about headphones, and If there's something I'm awfull at it's making a decision.

I prefer the brand Sennheiser, and it must be usable for not only gaming, but also music and movies. I am also a bit of a bass freak. I am mostly going to use it for the late night hours. I'd like it to be durable so that it doesn't break in the first year that I own it.

Now, I've been looking at a few options, and one I came across was the Sennheiser 558. It costs €  123 ($152) and they say it's great for gaming ánd music, so that's a plus. I don't know if the sound leakage is as terrible as they say, but I'm buying the headphone so the neighbours don't think I'm killing someone in the first place.

Now I could also go for something a bit more different, and maybe a closed headphone like the Sennheiser HD 280 PRO which is €  105 ($130) would help with the sound leakage, but idk if that takes away a big part of the quality of the sound.

I've also taken a look at the gaming series of Sennheiser like the PC-350, but that one is just a little over the budget. Plus I don't know if it's usable for music and/or films aswell.

If there are cheaper once which have a great sound and are durable, feel free to post.

What do you recommend for me?
