I am still interested but the news that it is also being developed for consoles has turned me off some.

In Topic: Do you still play GW2, and why?

Not at the moment.  Every 2-3 months I'll get the urge but after a week I quit again,  Just boring.

In Topic: How well do you think the GW2 story compares to the GW1 story?

08 June 2013 - 01:00 AM

I did the story on my main all the way to 80.  I was doing the stories on my alts but when I realized that at 40 they became the same I gave up on them.

Not sure why but GW1s story, which was the same for each character, kept my interest and for each character I played it all the way through.  On GW2 once it starts to repeat there is just nothing that grabs me to do it and the stories up to 40 I wouldn't do again.

I play off and on.  Currently I am not playing.  I haven't been in the mood to play in about 2 months.  Even the Southsun Cove event wasn't enough to bring me back.  Maybe I'll get back in the mood in a few months, who knows.

In Topic: Perception of "Grind"

03 June 2013 - 04:08 AM

I agree that grind is in the eye of the beholder.  With this in mind it will be very hard to make any game that doesn't have grind in it as there will always be some who will think doing something is grind.

As Andemius said, "I don't mind if COSMETICS are a grind (ie Greens in GW1), I do mind if top gear is a grind."

To add to that I don't mind grinding for gold to buy things but with the current anti-farming policy it does put a damper on this (I am aware that certain dungeons give good gold for a fast run, this is not the point).

I also don't look at grind if it is part of a quest (within reason).  Having to kill 20 of something is ok, but if the quest says kill 100 of something (that cant be 1 shot) then it does get grindy.
