I just recently... like two weeks ago... purchased parts for a system very similar to the one in your list (LURVE! PCPartPicker!).

Mine

I went with the i5-3750k because I felt it was a better value. It's not that much under the i7, performance-wise, and less expensive.
I think you would get by very well with a "smaller" power supply.
The case is awesome! Bigger than I thought, and you'd have to try really really hard to get something to overheat in there, especially with the extra 200mm fan (woot! for red LEDs!).

Everything is running like a top and near silently. Anyway... that's my 2p.

In Topic: how to get to Durmand Priory (in Lornar's Pass)

The Durmand Priory waypoint (on the map it's directly north of "Refuge Peak" is right next to a bridge that crosses a deep gorge and leads you to the Priory. I don't think there's any restriction for entering the area or for getting the skill point, though I could be wrong.

In Topic: Thinking of playing the old GW 1 campaigns for lore + HoM rewards. Questions...

As to your first question, I suppose the answer depends on what your definition of "screwed up" is. The reason why people suggest starting in Nightfall is to get a goodish number of heroes fairly quickly. I'm not completely sure why Factions would be next, though, other than it's very fast paced and would probably net you titles in a shorter amount of time. However, the lore progresses, timewise, in the the way you'd think... Prophecies, Factions, Nightfall, Eye of the North. If it was important to experience the lore in the order it was "intended," then you should start in Prophecies. Plus, the starting area of Prophecies, where the whole story begins, is not accessible by characters started in other campaigns. You'd have to start a character in Prophecies anyway to see that bit of the story.

Now... if you wanted the majority of the lore that pertains to Guild Wars 2, you COULD do just Prophecies and Eye of the North.

As to your second question, I can't help much there. I am a very slow player (took me a whole year to finish Prophecies) and I have no sense of how much absolute time it would take to finish any of the campaigns.

Hope this helped! Guild Wars 1 is worth it, in my opinion. I hope you really enjoy it.

Keurig, too. Caribou Mahogany with a little half 'n' half. It'll do.
