So my little human thief was exploring DR last night, collecting waypoints and checking out vistas, and she began to notice a common sound: laughter.
A lot of laughter, in fact. Of course it's a big city with a lot happening, but there seem to be a lot of people there giggling wildly for no particular reason. A child running past is certainly prone to laugh, but a fully armed and armored Charr warrior somehow doesn't inspire laughter in me. Yet when one such Charr passed my thief in the street he was accompanied by insane cackling followed by some the voice of some random dude going "HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY! HEY!!!" It's unsettling.
Then there's poor old Halan Frohmanj. Have you met him? He's an elegantly dressed fellow who strolls up to a young woman he doesn't know and seems to begin hitting on her. He only succeeds in confusing her with his complex Elonian name, however, then ambles off to pursue his studies while she mutters "Get some sunlight once in a while."
Just down the street from this a Norn vendor is threatening to violently demonstrate his wares, much to the alarm of a bystander. He also assures everyone within earshot that he is, in fact, crazy. And all the while the phantom giggling resonates all around the city.
So what's up with these poor folks? Are they going stir crazy from being cooped up in their magnificent city by centaurs and dragons?
