#2206494 Don't ban us for farming....

I have always had email authentication. No one was really in my account because all of my things were still there, it has a unique password, and I had access to it myself up until the ban. I appreciate the kinder message they changed it to after my initial appeal, but they really did ban me for spending 1-2 hours on two consecutive nights killing one type of mob in one area. I used no macros or add ons, I don't know the 1st thing about botting, and I mostly did it to occupy my eyes while I listened to some podcasts or youtube stuff with no worthwhile visuals. I tripped someone's bot alarm despite lack of profit from farming, relatively short farming periods, and erratic human player control in combat. Also, I just bought gems with some real cash just a few days ago which I don't think gold sellers do.

I'm not raging against Anet or GW2. I just wanted to address problems 1. the net is too wide if they're not going to investigate deep enough to see all the details that make me "not a bot" and 2. As necessary as those measures may be to combat gold sellers, it really offends, embarrasses,  and alienates good community members when we receive a message that states our guilt and that a steep punishment has already been carried out.

And davadude, I appreciate that the guru staff upholds a lot of integrity and faith in Anet, but this is just an issue of their community management that could honestly be handled better. I know developers and Execs fill the advertisement and announcements, and they do a great job, but the CM people are the face and the voice when it comes to real player interaction. It would serve Anet and the game better if our feedback and concerns about these things help them to improve customer experience.

Yes, especially after seeing your case I agree wholeheartedly.  Hope your account comes back before mine did (when I was banned back in November it took them two weeks).

Let me give players a hint:

If you are doing something in-game that does not seem nor feel correct, takes advantage of an aspect of the game, provides high rewards, and seems a bit too good to be true, it's probably a reason for you to not engage in it.

Couldn't agree more. Anyone who tries to play this game efficiently is either a cheater, an exploiter, or a bot. I don't know why any legitimate players would engage in rewarding activities like killing mobs for valuable drops. As legitimate players, it is our duty to avoid such activities.

For some useful tips, try to imagine the top 5 ways you can think of to make decent gold in this game. Now, avoid them at all costs. They are all exploits which are too good to be true. What you should be doing is finding ways to make money that are slow and steady, the way ANet intended. You may ask, if the developers don't want you to be rewarded for certain actions, why put them in the game to begin with? And if they mistakenly put them in the game, why not patch it to fix their mistakes? Keep in mind that ANet has more important things to do, like creating new and interesting ways to get you to buy gems. It's not their job to fix the parts of the game they don't like, it's your job to determine what you should and shouldn't be doing. Besides, they probably intentionally leave efficient ways of playing in the game just so they can see who's participating in them and ban them for botting. Bet you guys would have never thought of that, they're actually doing you a service.

Well, I for one am glad that ANet has such a strict policy. As a legitimate player who makes his in game gold from very time consuming dungeons like Arah and farming tier 5 materials (tier 6 is too rewarding, so I leave them to the botters) it leaves me with a warm and fuzzy feeling inside knowing that the developers are swinging their massive ban hammer upon those who dare to try and reap rewards quickly. Well, other than those who plop down a bunch of money for gems, I mean. Unlike playing the game, that is a perfectly efficient method of achieving all of your in game goals, so sayeth ArenaNet.

OP, the only thing you're allowed to do repeatedly is dungeons. You may run CoF p1 20 times in a row, and you're a good player, but hang around anywhere in the open world for an hour or two and you're an evil farmer. Tsk.

#1761388 Are Conjures better yet?

The problem with conjures is that some of you only look at damage rather than functionality and then come here to complain that they are useless. Many of you are just waiting for someone to make a video of themselves facerolling with conjure weapons before you can decide that they are worth using. To those of you who are like that, I laugh at you.
