I'll cut it short:

Do you want a classical game or a modern game?

If former->go to Rift. I recommend it wholeheartedly(it really is THE BEST Themepark out there).
If latter->stay here. This game is designed more for crossover audience(Sandparks and Themeboxes).

Also Sandbox or Themepark?

If classical sandbox->go to EvE. Really awesome game!
If modern hybrid sandbox->stay here!

Hope this helps :D

Edit: Also stop thinking/planning and get to playing dam it! That helped me and now I am enjoying GW 2 immensely(just look at my posts from a week ago O.O) :D
I'd say Guild Wars 2 is possibly the most themeparky of all of the MMOs I've played.  If you want to play a sandbox MMO, try Salem or possibly Mortal Online.  Hell.  Even Runescape is more of a sandbox.

Some profession traits are still broken, and have been since BWE1. How hard is it to make things like traits and skills work properly?

Then there are basic features missing from PvP which 99% of games launch with, like leaderboards, voice chat, observer mode, and private servers. These aren't daunting to implement either. They're very generic features that should be easy to implement.
Leaderboards and "Observer Mode" might be, but you need to remember that this isn't some FPS, the landscape is different.  Consider that the most played PC game in the world, League of Legends, only just got a spectator mode and still does not have private servers or voice chat.  Voice chat isn't just some "feature", integrated voice chat leads to a certain expectation that not all players can meet, having a mic.  It's a major hassle that requires servers of it's own to be bought and ran.  Most in-game voice chat sounds terrible and has little to no customization.  I think players who use voice chat commonly tend to prefer to use their own voice chat because of the massive lack of quality.

I'm not sure what you mean by Private Servers.  I'm assuming you mean some sort of LAN party feature.  And this, again, is not an FPS.  At it's core, it's still an MMO.

In Topic: GW2 doesn't feel like a true sequel to Guild Wars

Those who say go play Guild Wars are being irrational. Guild Wars is a seven year old game. We want new content, a better graphics engine, new stories and new challenges. Just because we wish to play a game like Guild Wars does not mean it is the game we want to play right now. We simply want to be reminded of the magic that made Guild Wars so special.
People are still playing World of Warcraft quite well.

And seriously, now.  Guild Wars had polish because it was so old.  As Guild Wars 2 ages, it will be refined and made better.  The whole basis of the game was to innovate.  To be the next generation of gaming.  It has a fantastic combat system that merges traditional MMORPG gameplay with ARPG gameplay and that isn't something that is easy.  If you expect your 2 month old MMO to have the same amount of polish as it's 7 year old predecessor, you're going to be let down.

Also, what mechanics are clunky?  You only mentioned ways to obtain gear, and forgot to mention the gear rewards from map completion.

In Topic: Bleeding 6800 dmg, 12 hits, how?

6800 bleed damage doesn't seem like a whole lot for sPvP.  Especially if you don't have toughness.

What's the value of 1 Initiative?
One initiative is worth 1.  Multiplied by your Healing Power stat, which you can find by mousing over your Health on the equipment page.  It's based completely on your stats.
