#1839256 Crafting using ingredients from bank

Posted Kerdain on 29 August 2012 - 07:15 AM

This is really needed, considering the astronomic amount of various ingredients needed to cook, not to mention when you have multiple professions and craft ingredients that don't go into collections, thereby cluttering your bank/bags.

As it is now, all my 8 slot bags are filled with cooking ingredients (basic) when I cook, but I also need space for intermediate ingredients and of course the resulting food! It is rather insane lol. I do love how complex and diverse cooking is, but it is just crazy right now.

In short, please let us use ingredients we have in the bank, at least to discover new recipes - without having to put them manually into the bags.

Also, can we have more slots in bank collections for intermediate crafting materials like adorned jewels?

If that's not possible, can we have a second set of bag slots only for crafting materials?

The In-game economy is fine, it has enough gold sinks, you're talking about basic economics here, which I'm sure Arena net has taken into account, but if I had to choose one probably gambling, such a cool idea.

+1 for the effort in the post.

#1865065 Trading, Inspecting, Dueling, and CoD Mail

Tracking what is being traded through mail is almost identical to tracking it via player to player trade. The only difference is in presentation.

I would very much like dueling to be enabled in ALL areas. I would love to duel a friend or two while waiting for a dynamic event to start up.

Additionally it would be fun to do in guild halls when they're implemented. I could even host a silly 1v1 tourny.

#1856492 Thinking with Portals

I use it a ton in WvW. Put down the portal in an out-of-sight location, run into the fray and pick off 1-2 people at low health, drop portal and teleport to safety.

Also, when being chased by a 5+ people: run to the edge of a cliff, drop portal, jump off cliff, watch as the 5 people chasing you jump off the cliff too, drop portal again and teleport to the top of the cliff. I also have the trait that makes you take 50% less fall damage, and sometimes the enemy will see you jump and live and then try and follow you and die.

#1855608 Make Leaderboards PvP/PvE

Posted Mr LazyDazy on 31 August 2012 - 03:32 PM

Hello!
Many people complain that PvE is boring in endgame and that there is no point. They miss the gear grind and something to work forward to.

Why not make leaderboards? guilds and friends now have a goal. Who can clear a the AC dungeon at the best possible time in a month time frame? Those who is rank 1, 2, 3 at the end of the month get some juicy rewards.
There should be a leaderboard as well to show who got the best score of all time.

In PvP, do the same leaderboard.. Who killed most people as xx class, who won most tournaments etc..

I think this would be a great way for fixing the issue many people have. :)

Having no P2P trade does not make gold sellers easier to spot.
For all intents & purposes, Mail functions exactly the same for the server as P2P trade does - just that instead of one person's item disapearing from them and apearing in the inventory of the recipient, both players lose and gain what they put into the window.

I cannot stress this enough: Every single MMO handles mail in a similar way - and speaking from experience of maintaining a Ragnarok Online and Final Fantasy XI personal server in the past, I've seen that the server views the transactions with just as much effectiveness, with both transactions taking up a similar amount of space.

It is complete ~bullshit~ that it's easier to track Mail than Trade - unless ArenaNet is doing it in a ridiculously roundabout way.

To be perfectly frank with you, since Gold Selling is officially sanctioned in-game already, Gold Sellers are almost without a leg to stand on in this game anyway. There is no reason for there to be no way to directly trade item-for-item with a player - especially not in the interest of discouraging Gold Sellers.

These 4 features may seem small, but their absence is certainly noticeable.

Person-to-person trade is important in any MMO - particularly in one where the Auction system is under maintanance.

Inspecting to see what that cool-looking armor set is, how an ally is built, or what stats they're geared to is a big feature in MMOs. For any reason there could be to exclude it, there are two reasons -to- have it.

Dueling is a less important feature of an MMO, but it is still a fun one - particularly when you want to test out certain abilities, or try some quick 1v1 fun.
Allowing people to challenge eachother to duels in Heart of the Mists only would be acceptable, IMHO.

CoD Mail is a less important feature, if you have P2P trading - but not having either is crippling and, honestly, awful design.

I know this was a simple post - but these are the most common basic-complaints I've heard, and agree with.
I hope GW2 develops some polish in the coming months - sooner, rather than later - as the economy is losing out on important early growth, in this first week - and a bad start for an MMO can cripple it, particularly in its economy.

Be careful, this probably one of the most used forums for this game and someone could steal your ideas. If your going the curret style, it seems you wanna combine industrial/technological terms with anatomic features of the charr. I'd make a list of the suffixs/prefixs and see what sticks. Also, if your going for a more RP aspect, think about what war band your gonna be, as that could offer some insight (just avoid anything "flame" related).

Also, just my opinion, avoid anything with "dark" or "death" in it. Thats for da nubs.
