You would think the 4 attunements would give flexibility for any environment, but in truth Ele's are one trick ponys, Kiting with ranged damage, with some cosmetic combos and marginal healing icing.

In small confined spaces (like about 50% of all dungeon space) Ele's are unable to kite and become a liability to themselves and their mates.

I completely agree, having an 80 thief, ele and necro and an engineer that is almost there I think engineer has way more versatility. You can play around with FT builds, bombs, grenades, rifle power builds whereas elementalist tends to stick to either d/d auramancers or staff (cantrip or otherwise). Engineer always felt like there was a lot you could do.

And I say that even though my ele is my main (and favorite char).

I know I went off the beaten path, but I absolutely LOVE my Norn Ele. It took me quite some time to find a class I love and I don't think it could look better than doing it in Norn Tier. This is Tier 2, but for the first 40 levels or so I ran T1 Norn cultural.

Oh, and the Tier 1 looks really good on females too (But T2 and 3 are subpar imo).

So I have an 80 necro and just started leveling a thief. Loving it, but I have spent 95% of my time in GW2 solely pve. What is the fastest way to learn how class mechanics meld together in pvp like the post above? Is there a good streamer that breaks down when is a good/bad time to go in? Or maybe a video series or guide that explains builds and how to execute them on a proficient level? AFter leveling to 80 I have a pretty good grasp on optimizing necro abilities to have a ton of dmg, but when I play (or even watch other pvpers) the skill difference becomes quite obvious. I'm not looking for shortcuts, but just good resources to be seeing to figure out how to play, engage, and make decisions better.

TLDR: casual player sucks, looking for good resources.
