I understand and I'm over it now. But the community here "few posts above" are so kind. Everybody makes bad investments sometimes.
From my spare gems I bought the expand bank just so I can store some extra items in like my costume and will keep the res for maybe an extra character slot. So "Bad investment" is kinda gone now. Won't happen again. :D

That said, ANet needs money. And they've stated that they will not adopt pay-to-win model in their cash shop - that leaves gimmicks, skins, etc.. I don't know if there are costume related achievements, but AFAIK you don't need costumes to complete Halloween quests.
And IMHO, Halloween event sucked so far; I don't care for the costume brawl.

These costumes are a waste anyway. I bought one only to find out it isn't an one time purchase...
You have to buy it for each of your characters and not delete it.
You can switch between characters since it's account bound but still a waste in my eye's.

When you buy something with in mind that it was an one time purchase for all characters than I don't see why I should research before I buy. (I thought it worked just like the costumes in gw1).  

So I'm very dissapointed about this. I would love to have the costumes but never planned to keep it in my normal bags. (I'm no regular in-game item buyer and already lack the bag/bank space.
