#2189003 New Shirts and Vests in the Gem Store

Posted Darkobra on 08 April 2013 - 04:42 PM

These would sell a lot faster if we could wear town clothes in combat.

Good, maybe once they run out of ideas for different shirts, they'll get to making more real armor.
Fingers crossed.

#1847264 Structure PVP's "best gear-highest level-all abilities" system fe...

Posted Obsituus on 30 August 2012 - 12:11 PM

No.

This is one of the biggest selling points of the game. Keep the structured/tournament style PvP its own entity and let it be based purely on skill. At no time can anyone lose and claim gear as the reason, etc. If your team wins in sPvP, you earned it through skill as a team, not have the "phat lewts".

If you want PvP using YOUR gear, go to WvW and do some small group roaming instead of following the zergs. Yes, you are given base level 80 stats, but you are nowhere near as powerful as a true level 80.

Go to WvWvW with your OWN  stuff and OWN spells for which you worked hard for

#2166776 Should Anet bring back Rune only drops?

Posted Briar on 19 February 2013 - 05:28 PM

No

They just need to increase the drop rates of everything worth having and stop making the game into a stereotypical stat grinder

#2114343 High res weapon galleries from dulfy.net

Posted dulfy on 11 December 2012 - 02:38 AM

Hey everyone, recently I have compiled a couple of weapon galleries using high res ingame screenshots that includes most of the weapon skins available ingame except the starter weapons. I thought I would share what I have here incase you are looking for a specific weapon skin for your character.

Weapon galleries available How to use
The galleries are designed to allow you quickly scan images of all the available weapons with minimal scrolling. You can either scroll down the page looking at the thumbnails or click on any of the images and flip through the images on the page.

Once you find the weapon skin you like, you can click on the details to reveal a table that shows you
  • Where/How to acquire the weapon

  • Trading Post prices, if it can be brought (link to gw2spidy or guildwarstrade)
Anyways, I hope this would be a help to those looking for weapon skins to complement your awesome armor! :D

#1999703 Story Mode - no one does it anymore

Posted The Servant on 07 October 2012 - 02:29 PM

1. The Story itself is horrible, made for bratty 8yr old kids. Nothing like GW1 story. The entire GW2 story consists of characters b*tching at other characters, and guilttripping, and then "we're good now let's go get a drink". I honestly don't even want to know the mentality of people who would consider this story good or make it. Arah dungeon was also really dull and boring. The best part being Flash Gordon Ajax warship, except you don't get to fire cannons, but fight boarders. Then when Zaitan comes you fight him on the other ship, not Ajax, which has floated cannons that look stupid and fire stupidly and it's so boring I went semi-AFK at one point. The dragons itself are horrible. Skyrim had nice and interesting ones.

2. Even Story dungeons consist of "you get one shot" difficulty level. This is lazy boring and just unfun stupid design. I believe Izzy said that Protective Spirit from GW1 was a mistake spell. Yeah, and why is that, because it prevented bad design of one-shotting?
The amount of times when I died in a dungeon not even knowing what hit me from full hp to zero in a sec..

3. Rewards are nothing special. Really.

I even stopped with personal story somewhere in the middle because I just couldn't take it anymore how bad it was. It started good, first few quests, and then I dunno what happened, it's like story designer went full retard. I play that Lion's Arch fort mission and design consists of.. nicely fortified fort but no wait, it's all pointless because enemies spawn out of thin air right next to me inside the fort tower?! This silliness never happened in GW1. The entire time I was wondering why all this charade, they could just spawn out of thin air in the champer of the Queen and be done with it.

#2095716 Who all hasn't hit 80 yet?

Posted dd790 on 25 November 2012 - 07:58 PM

Level 80 main but never been to Orr, level <20 alts I play sometimes.

I just don't see much reason to go forward further with my main, solo play just getting annoying with OP mobs that insta-respawn when you get towards Orr and most of the time I just spend what little time I have online chatting or meeting with friends rather than trying to 'finish' the game

Problems come when they introduce the ascension gear, and EVERYONE has to go do fractals to get that next step....20 stats, times 6 pieces...well, thats going to make a hefty difference.

I'm also not too happy with fractal levels being character bound. I have 3 geared to teeth 80's, don't want to be limited to only playing one because of the difficulty. bah :(

Love the dungeon, dislike the direction this gear/end-game is taking the game.

This is what bugs me - Don't get me wrong it's not that I dislike the 5-man dungeons, but personally I don't have a guild/friends to go with and the idea of trying to go with a PuG and getting abused because I haven't done the dungeon before or don't play how some random player wants me to, is repulsive to me. Before it was less of an issue as I was missing out purely on item skins (ignoring the ledges), and I could get full exotics in other places. Now it would seem that if I don't do 5-mans there's no way for me to get the best gear available; doesn't matter if it's only a 20 stat difference.

If they had to add ascended gear, it really should have been readily available from various sources, and not just 5-mans.

#2086378 Phase three of the Lost Shores is live!

Posted GSSB Lunaspike on 18 November 2012 - 09:48 PM

I wish people that complete it the best of luck. This was a complete waste of time. Frustrating, broken, laggy...all words I would use to describe this. Mobs that are so glitched it's just stupid. I can't begin to comprehend how this passed QA.

This is the very problem I warned people about a month ago. If you continue to say "great job Anet, ignore the whiners*", things like this will get worse. This was a horrible event, it's been broken since day one. On BP I never got to even finish the first days events because sure "you can finish after phase 2 starts" didn't cover the fact that the phase one event broke again during phase two.

Anyway like I said to those that do it, congrats. To me not worth the time. Going to play more AC until it's over.

*whiners== people with completely valid complaints, that are only taking the time to complain because they want the game to be better.

#2086771 So who got a precurser from the final Karka event?

Posted Itharius on 19 November 2012 - 01:43 AM

I thought the way they structured this one-time event was incredibly inconsiderate and just not very well thought out. They schedule it for the middle of the day on Sunday? Some of us have things to do during non-prime time hours. It's incredibly disappointing to hear that I missed out on legendary precursors because I couldn't boot up the game in the middle of the day (East coast). Must be even worse for Oceanic players.

This event was one of the rare times that ArenaNet really failed to meet my expectations. They have to go back to the drawing board with future events.
